Mozambique is a country with productive soil and good conditions for agriculture. However, a large percentage of the food consumed is imported from neighbouring countries such as South Africa, Brazil and others. My project aims to promote agriculture in Mozambique by introducing a new variety of potato seed adapted to the country's prevailing tropical climate. In this way, we aim to promote the consumption of national products of better quality and sufficient quantity to meet domestic demand as well as imports.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

This project could solve the first problem of unemployment that affects many young people in Mozambique, since professionals from various areas will be involved and divided into different departments and sectors, as well as operators and farmers. From an economic point of view, Mozambique's economies could improve, as the value that goes to other countries in the process of importing this food could be reduced and circulated within the country, increasing the value of our currency.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

With the introduction of improved seeds in the context of our tropical temperature, Mozambique can produce high-quality Reno potatoes in sufficient quantity for national consumption, as well as for the export of the same product. However, the focus of my project is production for local consumption.

The project is aimed at farmers, the formal and informal market and, finally, the Mozambican community.
