Resumo

StockPro a digital platform that helps small business owners gain better control over their managerial and operational activities in the areas of stock and sales management, this application is easy to use, secure and accessible to small business owners.

StockPro is management software, that helps SME's become more productive by automating activities related to the management of stock and sales. StockPro can be used on desktop as well as mobile devices, it allows business owners remote access to their business. StockPro records all the movements made on stock items, allow business owners to keep track of exactly how many products they have in stock, this increases the security of the stock because anomalies in stock quantity change can easily be detected. The software also produces a low items report so that products can be re-stocked before completely running out of stock. Business using StockPro can better monitor the financial situation of their company, the software records all sales made, and produces an accurate report of the cash flow generated by the business. All these functions have the aim of simplifying business management and helping small business owners increase the efficiency of their business operations.

01.02 Qual é o principal problema que está a tentar resolver?

The main problem solved by StockPro is the disorganized and often poor management that results from business management via manual, pen and paper based management mechanisms. Business owners that manage their operations via manual, pen and paper based management methods have to record, monitor and control their operations on paper records. Over time papers get accumulated and it becomes harder to monitor and control business activities. Relying on brain power alone to do repetitive tasks of record data can quickly become tedious, activities such as recording stock item quantities as the alter due to new entries or sales, recording cash sales and customer is very difficult to do on pen and paper for high volume sales. StockPro provides a digital platform that automates the managerial and operational activities of small business owners given them leverage to control and monitor their business with the click of a button.

1. Increased stock control, because StockPro register all the inward and outward movement of stock items, business owners are able to know in real time exactly how much they have in stock. These means that the stock is safer, because it is easy to identify if quantities on hand and in the system don't match. StockPro also produces a low stock report so that businesses can refill stock items before they run out. 2. Improved cash flow monitoring, StockPro will record all sales transactions made by the company, as such business owners will have e better understanding of the money that goes in to their company, and will give them a better understanding of the financial situation of their company, giving them important information for decision making. 3. Improved business performance, because the software automates manual repetitive activities, tasks can be done faster and more efficiently using computing power and dedicated human thinking to more creative tasks that computers cannot do.

StockPro is aimed at serving small business owners, who may or may not be physically present in their business during working hours, they have one or more employees to monitor, to whom they have delegate tasks such as stock keep and sales. Business owners that sell and must control a large variety of stock items and preferably have a high sales volume that is difficult to track via pen and paper.

Marketing and business relations, Priscila Cassimo, completed the course of Geographic Information Science (SIG) at the university of UEM (Universidade Eduardo Mondlane), has been onboard on the project for six months now and is responsible for the business relations aspect of the project, she has made various presentations to potential clients and also government funding programs.

Because StockPro is easy to use any business can use it to automate their business activities. This helps reduce poverty because as small business owners grow they a hire more people, they grow confident and start other businesses and this promotes a spiral growth for the economy.

Potential competitors are Primave (ERP software from Portugal), PHC (ERP software from Portugal) and Sage Pastel (South African software). StockPro stands out from these softwares because of the designed in it's usability, StockPro was designed via iterative feedback with SME's, many of our competitors are big budget software that were designed to be used by accountants, these features are not compatible with SME's the price and the feature set are out of reach for the average small business owner. Many of StockPro's BETA test users have reported that it took them less them 3 days to understand how to use StockPro.
