Goatopia ranch is a goat farm dedicated to breeding and farming quality Galla goats for chevon. Galla goats are an indigenous goat breed found in the savannahs of East Africa. The Galla goats are also known as Somali goats. The breed is majorly kept for meat production but they are also good milk producers. The goats are identified from their pure white color and may sometimes have black markings. The bucks(male goats) can grow to 30-35 kilograms while the does (female goats) may grow to a weight of 20-30 kilograms. The breed has a quick maturity rate of approximately 6 months. The does have a high twining rate with some even giving birth to triplets. Galla goats farming is economical and sustainable as the goats have a low mortality rate, minimal expenses and very high returns on investments. With the right skills, knowledge and dedication this is a business venture that can thrive within a very short time and sustain itself perpetually.

The main problem that Goatopia ranch is dedicated to solve is Zero Hunger ,which is one of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture. The project is aimed at producing quality meat for consumption by people. Goat meat is a rich source of proteins which is one of the basic food types required for a healthy population. Goat meat can be processed and packaged into canned foods that can be offered as relief food in areas that are disaster stricken or as food supplements for people in institutions such as the military, school children or even the sick in hospitals.

1.NO POVERTY: End poverty in all its forms everywhere. This is an economic project that is aimed at creating profits from selling goat meat. The money raised from this project will be used to eliminate poverty and also enter into the community's circulation thus creating an economic environment for other projects to thrive. 2.GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. Chevon is a rich source of proteins that prevents development of Protein energy malnutrition. Chevon is also low on saturated fats and high in the recommended unsaturated fats this diet helps to decrease the risk of developing heart conditions. 3.AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Manure from the goats can be harvested and converted into biogas, a renewable fuel which can be used for cooking and produce electricity. 4.DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH. It is a legal business that is socially acceptable

Goatopia Ranch is aimed at serving the community as a source of employment to the herdsmen who will be taking care of the goats, the carpenters who shall be employed to construct and maintain the goat pens, the farmers who shall be growing feeds that will be bought for the goats, the driver who shall drive the goats to the slaughter house, the people working at the abattoir, the farmer who reared the goats, the people who shall eat the meat and the chevon that shall be exported will earn the country foreign exchange and taxes.

1.One of the partners is a seasoned butcher who has been in the meat industry for over 10 years .He has a passion in rearing animals and has a deep understanding of the market for goats and understands the consumption patterns of goat meat. 2.The other partner is one who is an experienced goat farmer having been brought up in farm where goats were being reared .He has the experience, knowledge and skills to have a successful goat farm running.

Goat farming is a vast industry that offers collaboration among different industries such as the education sector, health sector, agricultural sector, finance sector and transport sector. This is a project that will be carried out as a collaboration between partners, authorities and the community at large to ensure that the goats transition from birth to adulthood and finally as meat.

There are a large number of customers who already use a product/service very similar to the product/service we envision creating. this statement is true as it is also false. Goatopia project is unique as it stems out from a collaboration of research ,knowledge and skills. The product/service we envision creating is an improvement on an existing product or service. My project is an improvement from the traditional way of rearing goats to a more modern and efficient method. The product/service we envision creating could be described as an extension of a range of products or services. Some of the services that my project will offer is research opportunities to agricultural and research institutions, stud services for quality genetics and training of seasoned and upcoming goat farmers. The product we envision creating is a new version of an old product/,My project will improve on the meat quality available in the market be ensuring we meet the required standards for internal market.

My main competitors are other goat farmers who are also rearing goats for meat production. What makes my project stand out from other goat farms is that my farm is an integrated system that offers a variety of products and services from which the consumer can choose from. Some of the products i shall offer are quality Bucks(male goats) for farmers to improve their herds, quality does(female goats) to multiply their herd ,high quality Galla goat meat for consumption and manure for farmers to use. The services that my project will offer include: stud services, farm visits, trainings and research.
