This dependency limits local economic growth and hampers the development of a robust, homegrown renewable energy sector. Solaris Afrika aims to establish a local solar panel manufacturing and assembly plant to retain capital within the country, fostering economic growth, creating jobs, and developing local skills. Additionally, the high upfront cost of solar systems makes them unaffordable for many South Africans. By implementing innovative leasing programs and community solar microgrids, Solaris Afrika will make solar energy more accessible and affordable.
