Greenmovement Energy will replace 150 tons per month of coal used for industrial heating purposes with our low-carbon Woodies. Greenmovement Energy will source raw materials generated as waste from the forestry industry.

The project is to supply consumers with a consistent volume of 135 tons per month of Woodies, for utilization in their boilers, showcasing the fiscal advantages and efficiency gains achievable through Woodies adoption. We aim to displace 150 - 200 tons per month of coal currently used by consumers, replacing it with our biomass. This substitution will result in a measurable reduction in carbon emissions, thus contributing to our commitment to environmental sustainability. The project will directly create 20 employment opportunities for the local youth, fostering economic growth and enhancing the livelihood of the community. To showcase the viability and long-term feasibility of our initiative, we are dedicated to meeting rigorous service level agreements with our consumers for 2 years. Through these strategic initiatives, we aim to drive the adoption of Woodies, promote sustainability, foster local employment, and establish a robust foundation for future growth and impact.

The South African manufacturing sector relies on coal for 80% of its energy needs. However, international regulations like CBAM and the local Carbon Tax Bill are set to increase costs due to carbon tax liabilities. Mitigation strategies, such as switching to gas, are prohibitively expensive, and alternative biomass fuels do not meet the required energy density of 26.5 MJ/kg. Additionally, the coal quality is inconsistent, causing operational inefficiencies. The ash generated from coal use leads to frequent breakdowns and incurs significant disposal costs. These challenges also have environmental implications, contributing to pollution and failing to meet sustainability targets. This poses a critical challenge for maintaining cost-effective, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations in the sector.

Thermal Excellence: Woodies provides a higher calorific range of 32-34 MJ/kg, making them the hottest solid fuel available in South Africa. This significantly surpasses A-graded coal, which has a calorific value of less than 27.5 MJ/kg, enhancing energy efficiency. Minimal Ash Generation: Woodies have an ash content of less than 2%, substantially lower than coal (10-30%). This low ash content reduces disposal costs and minimizes equipment breakdowns due to ash buildup, improving operational efficiency. Strategic Tax Liability Resilience: By substituting coal with Woodies, carbon emissions are significantly reduced. This substitution ensures compliance with international and local carbon regulations, such as CBAM and the Carbon Tax Bill, enhancing sustainability and reducing tax liabilities.

Our project aims to serve the domestic food and beverages manufacturing sector that employ the use of coal-fired boilers to produce thermal energy. The beneficiaries typically procure A- or B-graded coal as the fuel source to satisfy their minimum thermal requirements of 26.5MJ/kg.

Additionally, he adeptly led a team of four production workers, showcasing his organizational and managerial prowess. Atoh Mothibe: Chief Financial Officer, bringing financial acumen developed at IQBusiness and academic achievements, including participation in programs like McKinsey Forward and SAICA Energro, and being part of the Grindstone Green Economy Accelerator Program. Bonolo Vilane: Chief Resource Officer at with prior experience as Fleet Co-Ordinator at Reef Tankers, showcasing expertise in planning, distribution, sales, and sourcing in the biomass and organic waste-processing business.

Our main potential competitors include suppliers of standard biomass fuels and coal. What sets us apart is our product, Woodies, which has a higher calorific value (32-34 MJ/kg) compared to typical biomass fuels (14-19 MJ/kg) and exceeds the requirements for industrial clients (26.5 MJ/kg). Woodies also surpasses A- and B-graded coal in calorific value, enhancing operational efficiency. Made from organic waste like timber, Woodies reduce carbon emissions and carbon tax liabilities for users. Additionally, Woodies produce less than 2% ash content, lowering waste disposal costs and minimizing equipment breakdowns compared to coal.
