Describe your project or startup in a few words
Bots Bakers is a small scale bakery specializing in Bread, rolls, buns and other baked goods.
01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Bots Bakers as a bakery has been operating for 2 years and has 6 production employees, 1 admin staff who is also a director of the company and 5 delivery employees; that is 12 in all. We do a variety of baked goods but our main products are bread and buns. We operated at the local complex which is in the center of our town we also have a walk-in store where we sell our products. We also supply schools that have hostels and educational camps, we work also with police stations and hospitals. Our distribution model differs a bit from your traditional bakery distribution model, we do not deliver to local tuck shops but we deliver door to door with our bicycles. This model was developed because we only have 1 delivery van.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Bots Bakers was formed out of a need that I identifies in 2020 during the pandemic. With many households losing their income and people looking for affordable yet quality products the bakery industry wasn't having it, instead, the price of bread was increasing. Furthermore, rather than having our customer go to the nearest tuck-shop to buy our bread, we deliver bread right at their doorstep. This is achieved through our unique distribution method which uses modified tricycles that can carry 10 create (100 loaves) this is to also archive our goal of convenience.
