Higher Education Student Technology-Based Loan Program aimed at expanding access of and providing loans in terms of technology-based resources such as laptops, tablets and mobile phones to students who have benefited from the Higher Education Loans

The Student Technology Loan Program aims to provide affordable financing options for eligible students who require access to technology devices for their educational needs. By offering loans specifically tailored for purchasing laptops, tablets, and mobile phones, we can ensure that students have the necessary resources to engage in online learning, research, and project development and submit assignments digitally. These technological resources are crucial for students' academic success and will play a vital role in narrowing the digital divide prevalent in higher education institutions in the country by enabling students to acquire the devices they need to excel academically. By establishing a loan program specifically designed to address this issue, it will serve eligible students with the necessary tools to enhance their learning experiences and their learning outcomes but also equip them with essential digital literacy skills crucial for their future careers.

Many students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, face significant barriers in acquiring the necessary tools like laptops, tablets, and mobile phones on spot. These technological resources serve as gateways to knowledge, research, collaboration, and remote learning opportunities, enabling students to unlock their full potential and in today's World there is rapid evolving digital era, access to technology-based resources has become essential for educational success. The lack of access to these resources creates a profound digital divide: The digital divide is unequal access to and utilization of digital technologies, resulting in disparities in educational opportunities and outcomes, perpetuating educational inequities and hindering students' ability to thrive academically. Students without reliable access to good and warranted laptops, tablets, or mobile phones face limited opportunities for online learning, research, and digital collaboration. As a result, the

a. Collaborate with reputable technology vendors and manufacturers to negotiate discounted rates and warranty options for loan recipients. Even request subsides from Government by importing these resources without any import charges and levies. b. Establish partnerships with higher education institutions to ensure effective communication and outreach to eligible students, this have been done but should be increased or widen up outreach and follow up relevant to this program. c. Explore potential collaborations with government agencies or NGOs focused on digital literacy and education initiatives.
