Our startup aims to introduce a rabbitry aggregator to empower youth entrepreneurs by replicating successful rabbit farming models. By training young people to start their own rabbitries, we aim to create job opportunities and reduce unemployment rates. Rabbit farming offers a steady income, enhancing financial stability and independence for young entrepreneurs. As an aggregator, we will provide continuous training and support in rabbit husbandry, breeding, and farm management, ensuring best practices are followed. Successful rabbitry businesses can stimulate growth in related industries such as feed production, veterinary services, and meat processing. We will facilitate connections between farmers and these supplementary businesses, fostering a robust ecosystem. Our model supports gender equality and women's empowerment, promoting economic and community development. By aligning with SDGs, especially SDG 1, SDG 2, SDG 5, SDG 8, and SDG 17, it contributes to the broader global agenda.

Rising Rabbitry is committed to making high-quality rabbit meat available locally for the growing expatriate community in Addis Ababa, home to many continental and international organizations. Additionally, we aim to export rabbit meat to nearby Middle Eastern countries such as Qatar and the UAE, which currently source their supplies from other African nations like Egypt, South Africa, and Kenya. By tapping into these markets, we seek to establish a reliable supply chain and meet the rising demand for premium rabbit meat both locally and internationally.

Our principal product, rabbit meat, offers numerous health benefits: it is high in protein, low in fat and cholesterol, rich in vitamins and minerals, and easily digestible. Rabbit fur and leather provide exceptional softness and comfort, warmth, lightweight, versatility, affordability, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Additionally, rabbit waste is highly beneficial. Rabbit manure, rich in Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium, improves soil structure, promotes microbial activity, and is odor-free. Rabbit urine, high in nitrogen, acts as a natural pest repellent and aids in disease prevention, offering an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Moreover, we create job opportunities for youth, particularly females, by replicating our farm's successful breeding practices and buying back their produce, ensuring easy market access. This united effort significantly enhances our export capacity.

I have two partners: Tewodros Nigussie, an Addis Ababa University graduate with 15 years of IT experience. He manages our rabbitry's online presence and designs self-cleaning cages, evolving them through four generations in the past year. Tewodros also conducts extensive research on rabbit breeding and oversees the importation process of California White and New Zealand White purebred rabbits locally with the Ministry of Agriculture and Kenya's National Rabbit Conservation and Training Institute. Diyana Getachew, my other partner, is a graduating year student in Accounting and Finance from a private college. She handles all financial transactions, records farm processes including births, deaths, purchases, and sales. Diyana also shares feeding and care duties with me for the rabbits.
