Our startup, Mismar is a multi-vendor b2b e-procurement platform here to revolutionize the construction procurement processes in the ethiopian construction industry, connecting buyers and supplier or manufacturers on a single digital stage.

Mismar was born out of the need to streamline the procurement process of construction materials and machineries. Currently our potential buyers use an outdated system created within the industry, to source or procure their needs they first have to look hard for suppliers because most of them don't have online presence, once they locate them company purchasers have to physically go to their stores to ask for quotes then they have to take those quotes collected from different suppliers to their managers so they can make a decision once they choose the right material and right price from the right vendor they now have to go back and purchase their item then figure out their logistics all this process creates an unnecessary lead time lag of about a week or more, now Mismar is here to transform that process to just a few clicks.

Mismar is here to address multiple problems that plagued the Ethiopian construction industry for so long, the fragmented process they used this far only led them to inefficiencies increasing their lead time lag due to the complex coordinations, collecting and comparing involves manually, theft and resource wastage from multiple patries being involved, over-hiring purchasers and those purchasers committing fraud by colliding with suppliers and increasing prices. Through our platform procurement is streamlined, enhancing transparency and efficiency by addressing their pain points.

The benfits of using our platform is a lot, the buyers will benefit from Mismar by enhancing their efficiency streamlining their procurement process by having access to multiple vendors and their digital catalogue competing prices easily, asking for quotes directly via our RFQ (request for quote) feature from multiple vendors and the platform allows them to put those quotes together automatically and presenting it one downloadable pdf for easy comparison, hold supplier accountable through reviews and ratings, they will also benefit shipping services and online payments. Our vendors will benefit from increased visibility and market expansion reaching a broader audience and high value industry leaders, they will benefit from our fulfillment m services of gathering picking, packing and shipping their products for them, digital stores fronts, online payments, marketing tools and our efficient dashboards providing them with daily analytics.

While e-procurement platforms are not entirely new technology for the world for Ethiopia it is, although there are multiple generic e-commerce platforms that consists of every products from food to sanitaries, to electronic devices Mismar is different.

Our potential competitor is one procurement platform that is government owned but only support b2g is mainly tender based, so they are not really direct competitors. Others could be those generic e-commerce platforms, but our platform stands out because it’s industry focused, very niche, supports rfq for proper procurement process.

11.05 Menez-vous des actions au sein de votre communauté pour promouvoir le rôle des femmes entrepreneurs ?

As a young female solo entrepreneur myself, my existence in this male dominated industry is a great deal which I have not taken lightly and was a challenge. Not only did I enter a male dominated industry I’m here to change their old ways. I allowed my self and my story and my company be know and have inspired several young females reach out to me and I have given them my unwavering guidance and support in their individual endeavors. Mismar also aspires to have a female dominated employers and we have several events planned for women in STEM and women in tech.
