Hager Pesticide Factory PLC is a start up that produce organic pesticide from locally available plant species that are quality,effective,multifunctional&affordable and an organic fertilizer from residue of pesticide making zero waste to the environment.

Hager pesticide factory PLC is a startup which is incubated in Business and Incubation and Techno Entrepreneurship center of Bahir Dar University. It produce liquid organic pesticide that control pests from locally available plant species that are cultivated in short period of time, evergreen throughout the year and most importantly have high amount of active ingredients which are used to formulate the pesticide. These active ingredients are the plant's secondary metabolite that means they are used as plant defense system. These plant species will leave their leaves on the ground as their season cutoff so utilizing plants that have no earlier purpose and studying their nature to control pest. Unlike other pesticide which import active ingredients our active ingredients are used from plants. In addition we use natural inerts to formulate our product which are quality, effective, sustainable, organic, zero waste, multifunctional since they are usedforpre and post harvest stage.

1. Crop loss due to pest. Majority of crops 21-44%pre harvest loss and 15.5-27% post harvest loss is caused by pest. The agricultural sector which is a back bone for Ethiopian economy is responsible for cultivating different crops. However, due to pests both pre and post harvest crop loss is occurring. 2. Unaffordable price of agrochemical: Ethiopia imports 40,000tons of agrochemicals from abroad yet the demand and supply are not balanced and cause scarcity of products that results unaffordable price for farmers to consume and produce crops. 3. Health problems which are caused by Synthetic pesticide:Most of imported pesticide are synthetic that are toxic to humans and environment when released. Due to their toxic active ingredients they cause actue up to chronic health problems to humans. Considering the above main problems which are Crop loss due to pest, scarcity and unaffordable price, toxic synthetic pesticide which affect human and environment and to save foreign currency.

1. Crop production maximization. By providing organic pesticide to control pests and encourage growth for both pre harvest and post harvest stage and for target pest and target crops. 2.Save foreign currency: Agricultural products which are a back bone for Ethiopian economy will be improved by using locally available organic pesticides, machines and equipment. Thus Fosters product development and exportation to abroad by controlling pests and hindering synthetic pesticide which are expensive. 3.Balancing unsatisfied demand. Providing organic pesticide products in affordable price and working on modality and availability, the farmers won't suffer to search for pesticide for their harvesting. 4. Reduce human related health problems by utilizing an active ingredients that are safe to used, to purchased and even to be disposed to the environment by providing organic pesticide 5. Empowerment of young, women disabilities, to foster region as well as country financial development .

Our target beneficiaries are low to medium income farmers that produce cereals who are resident in Ethiopia around Bahir Dar and around kebeles under Business to Consumer(B2C) model. The others are Business to Government (B2G)which are agriculture office and Business to Business(B2B) are farmer unions.

Unlike other synthetic pesticide manufacturers we don't import active ingredients rather we synthetis from our raw materials. In addition our product is used for both pre harvest and post harvest stage of pest controlling giving it a multi functionality and also prepared for target pest and target crops.
