The main problem we are trying to solve is the significant environmental impact of textile waste. The textile industry is one of the largest polluters, generating vast amounts of waste that ends in landfills & incinerators, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions & resource depletion. Making 1 kg of fabric releases 20-23 kg of greenhouse gas, & textile waste landfills emit 423.4 kg CO2eq per ton. Additionally, there is a lack of efficient and sustainable solutions for managing textile waste from sources such as old clothes, offcuts from garment makers, and factory rejects. This leads to inefficient resource use & exacerbates environmental degradation. We aim to address this issue by implementing recycling technologies to convert textile waste into high-quality recycled fibers, reducing landfill waste, conserving natural resources, & lowering carbon emissions. She excels in cleantech, market research, & strategic planning and is committed to promoting a circular economy & gender inclusivity. AMINAT HASSAN-GBOLAGADE (CO-FOUNDER/SALES DIRECTOR): Aminat has over 7 years of experience in operational excellence & sales leadership. She drives revenue growth & market expansion for MLR through effective sales strategies & team leadership. For instance, in collaboration with other NGOs, we conducted virtual training sessions for women across all local governments in Lagos State in September 2023, followed by physical training sessions in November 2023. Additionally, we have provided vocational training and business acumen workshops for women in 2024. Furthermore, we are dedicated to nurturing future leaders by educating girls aged twelve to eighteen on the importance of education and hygiene. Our efforts are driven through our NGO, Women Forward Innovative Development Initiative, which focuses on empowering and supporting women through various programs.
