Powerbox Smart Energy systems are Made-In-Nigeria smart IoT-enabled solar systems for homes, businesses, & public facilities designed to provide 24hours access to clean and affordable energy for offgrid/underserved customers.

Our Powerbox Energy Systems are solar-charged, noiseless, zero-emission alternate power solution designed to provide access to 24hours clean energy reliably and consistently for our customers. The Powerbox is a 1kVA system that has its core components inbuilt into it - these components includes its advanced inverter systems, lithium energy storage and also a firmware microchip running our proprietary power optimization software that intelligently adjusts power supply for performance. Powerbox powers appliances such as Lights, TVs, Irrigation Farm Pumps, Fans, Laptops, Blenders and chargers. Our system requires customers to ‘turn-on’ and connect our system to their "change-over" switch to begin to enjoy clean power, conveniently replacing their generator sets, saving them huge costs of refueling and maintenance. Nigerian National Bureau of Statistics estimates that 93 million Nigerians do not have access to consistent grid-power supply as of 2020. This problem has posed a huge challenge to Nigerians, leading many citizens to fulfill their power needs, by owning generator sets - leaving citizens with huge recurring bills in maintenance costs and refueling, whilst also having to deal with the associated risks of carbon mono-oxide pollution (Co2 emissions) and fire hazards. 1) The Powerbox is designed and produced locally, making it the most affordable alternate solar power solution in its class (1kVA) for Nigerians. 2) The Powerbox can provide power for 24hours noiselessly, with zero-emissions, leveraging our in-built power management software. 3) Powerbox is also designed to supply ~220volts AC power, which is capable of powering any electronic appliances meant for both personal and productive use cases under (1kVA) power rating. We have a core team of 3 members. Myself, my fellow co-founder (Ayuba Mako Abdullahi) and a part time staff. I (Abdulmalik Badamasi) an Electrical Engineer with 3 years of experience in the renewable energy industry responsible for developing the Powerbox unit and its manufacturing processes working alongside my above mentioned two other colleagues, both graduates of Ahmadu Bello University, responsible for Powerbox’s product design and development, and product marketing and sales respectively. The project team combines expertise from business, innovation, management, technology, academia, and user-groups, sufficient to develop and exploit the project's outputs for market benefits. Led by Abdulmalik Badamasi of Powerbox Energy Systems, Abdulmalik will lead the team for this project.
