Its a community empowerment program where we did a market research and established the gap of the people in the communities of Embangweni in Mzimba and established that the community has a lot of sunflower seeds farmers but lack market for the seeds.

Tawonga Cooking Oil and General Traders Company its a registered company that was established after we conducted a market research in Embangweni communities in the southern part of Mzimba the northern region of Malawi. The enterprise provides market for the small scale women and youth farmers in Malawi. We process Cooking oil from Sunflower, soybean and groundnut seeds. We also provides trainings in entrepreneurship,sustainable l agriculture, agroforestry, and mitigation,adaptation and creating resilient community of the communities of Embangweni in Mzimba

We are creating market for small scale women and youth farmers in Malawi. We provide trainings in sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship, agroforestry that assist to reduce the negative impact of climate change and improves the product quality and quantity. We provide health cooking oil which is good for human health consumption where its rich in Vitamin E and low levels of fat which good for heart functioning

our main products are cooking oil, animal cake and laundry soap. Our cooking oil its rich in Vitamin E and low levels of fasts which is good for the heart functioning. Our cake its rich in proteins which assist the growth of poultry and pigs. Our laundry soap its good as it has the ability to remove deep stains. Therefore animal cake and laundry soap are made as the residues/by product from the raw materials and infiltrated remains of the cooking oil which makes the wastes from the processes minimized.

our main beneficiaries are small scale women and youth farmers, the people from the local communities we have other institutions like pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, schools and lodges that buys our products.

Joy Hayley Munthali owns 60% of the total shares and she controls the company as the chief executive officer. She has a degree in environmental sciences from Lilongwe university of agriculture and natural resources college Timothy Munthali holds 40% of the share he is a certified accountant with a degree in accountancy and with high levels of integrity with additional certificate in social work.
