I have been passionate about the environment in which I live. To protect it, I came up with a project where I recycle used papers, cloth, dry leaves, corn husk, sacks and others into beautiful paper-craft for school children to promote creativity.

In Ghana, the main challenge now is how to protect, maintain and promote our environment. Most of our challenges can be trace to human behaviors far more than natural causes. I believe that in other to find solution to the problems facing us, we have to change the mind of young generation on how to perceive the environment. For this reason, I came up with the idea of recycling waste such us; leaves especially cocoa leaves, corn husk, cloth, sachet rubbers and others into beautiful papers which can be used to promote creative art in schools. I believe that, training the young mind is one of the best ways to overcome our environmental challenges. So far, I made some number of papers from these waste which I distributed voluntarily to some number of schools in my community. I also organized free training to some schools on how to recycle their school waste into papers.

The main problem that my project is trying to solve is environmental challenges. I believe that, if our environment is clean and healthy, it will automatically reflect on the life’s of people living in it. Environmental Pollution has now become a serious hazard to aquatic life and that of humans in our society. Waste management now becomes very expensive in Ghana and majority of people turn to burn their waste at home, pour it in drains which increases the health hazard in the environment. My project is to recycle and provide training to school children in various schools on how to transform waste into usable papers.

There are several benefits attached to the product: 1. It is going to provide solutions to series of environmental challenges. 2. Increase creativity among school children in our various school. 3. Help to reduce poverty since people can now sell their waste for recycling 4. It will also help cocoa farmers to have alternative to their seasonal cocoa beans. (they can sell the cocoa leaves for recycling) 5. It will also provide employment especially to the physically challenge and vulnerable women and girls

The project aims at serving children in various schools by educating them and providing training for the them on how best they can recycle their school waste.

The project support SDG goal 1 because, it will provide employment which will help in poverty reduction. Eradicating poverty in all forms and dimensions is an indispensable requirement for sustainable development .Most people are becoming poor daily especially in Africa. My project will therefore help reduce poverty in all forms especially among women who are much more vulnerable.

05.08 Justification de mon projet

My project idea is unique and innovative because, it involves recycling of series of waste that can be found in our various schools and homes ;from papers to leaves and many other things unlike other ones who uses only papers and sometimes cloth.

05.09 Qui sont vos principaux potentiels concurrents et qu'est-ce qui vous différencie d'eux ?

My main potential competitors are those who produces other papers to be use in schools for creative art.

10.06 Menez-vous des actions au sein de votre communauté pour promouvoir le rôle des femmes entrepreneurs ?

Yes Personally, I have been able to initiate few actions within my community to promote female entrepreneurship. First ,I do provide encouragement to most of my female friends who are unemployed to venture into buying and selling. For example I provide for them TOMBROWN which I take from my Aunty named Ceresoya which most of them sell in the market.
