01.01 Décrivez votre startup en détail
The primary concern for parents of children with fever is the fear of its implications, such as febrile convulsions, brain damage, and pain. To alleviate these fears, they often seek medical advice to reduce their child's fever. However, medical help can be scarce, especially in remote areas or during nighttime when fevers frequently occur. Research shows that not all fevers require a hospital visit or medication. A brief conversation with a doctor can alleviate parents' anxiety, guide them on managing the fever at home, and advise when a hospital visit is necessary, thus saving money. Fever Diary addresses this need by connecting parents directly to medical doctors via WhatsApp, chat, call, or in-app chat. This service helps reduce fear, manage the fever effectively at home, and informs parents when a hospital visit is necessary, saving money on unnecessary hospital visits and medication.
01.02 Quel est le problème principal que vous essayez de résoudre ?
Cameroon records approximately 1,058,220 live births annually, and a substantial portion of the population is under 14 years old, highlighting the extensive need for pediatric healthcare services. Fever is a common symptom among children. Most parents become anxious and afraid of the implications of fever whenever their child has a fever. To alleviate this fear, they seek medical advice, get over-the-counter drugs, or use traditional remedies, not medically recommended for the child. Fever Diary aims to address the fear and anxiety among parents in Cameroon regarding their children's fever and the associated risks of febrile convulsions, brain damage, and pain, especially in settings where access to medical advice is limited due to remote locations, lack of available healthcare professionals, or during nighttime when fevers frequently occur.

Many homes, especially in the north of Cameroon and in regions affected by crises, live on less than $1.90 a day. Due to limited financial resources and the high cost of getting to the nearest medical center, parents in cases of fever often turn to self-medication or use methods not medically recommended to reduce the fever and avoid implications such as febrile seizures, brain damage, or pain. By offering remote medical consultations, Fever Diary reduces the financial burden on families by minimizing unnecessary hospital visits and medication costs. This service ensures that even in remote areas, parents have access to expert medical advice, preventing loss of income due to travel and prolonged illness. Additionally, by promoting proper fever management, Fever Diary reduces healthcare expenses, allowing families to allocate resources to other essential needs, thereby improving their overall economic stability and contributing to poverty reduction.

This specialized platform educates them about fever, guides them on managing it at home, and advises them on when a hospital visit is necessary. In Cameroon, where over a million children are born annually, fever in children remains a major health concern. Fever Diary fills this crucial gap by providing accessible, specialized medical guidance. The platform has proven its demand and efficacy with an average of three parent-doctor conversations per day in the first three months, even with minimal advertising. By focusing on fever, Fever Diary offers a tailored, innovative solution that reduces unnecessary hospital visits and alleviates parental anxiety. Its unique approach addresses substantial pediatric needs that are unmet by other platforms
06.09 Analyse compétitive
Fever Diary stands out from competitors Waspito, Pharma Dream, and ISIDOCTOR by its specialized focus on fever management for children. Unlike Waspito, which offers general telemedicine services, Fever Diary provides targeted, expert advice specifically for fever, addressing a common yet often mismanaged symptom. Pharma Dream focuses primarily on pharmaceutical services and drug delivery, while Fever Diary goes beyond medication by offering comprehensive fever management strategies and timely medical advice. This holistic approach educates parents and reduces reliance on medication alone. ISIDOCTOR offers a broad range of medical consultations, but Fever Diary's exclusive focus on fever allows it to develop deeper expertise and more precise recommendations. Fever Diary's commitment to educating parents about fever management and providing immediate, specialized consultations ensures that parents receive the most relevant and actionable advice.
