OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT GLOBAL OBJECTIVE: The aim is to position the company as a major player in the cassava processing industry. And be one of the leading brand name when it comes to cassava processing in the country.

01.01 Décrivez votre startup en détail

Company overview NAN-AGRIC Cooperative is a cooperative located in Buea, Southwest Region Cameroon. Its made up of 10 active members all based in the southwest region Buea. NAN-AGRIC is a company that i set up 2years ago in the Production/agro-food sector which consists of the semi-industrial transformation of cassava, and processing of chicken meat in several bagged derivatives. We created the group after receiving a small Agricultural grant of $5000 that was in 2019 by the Tony Elumelu foundation. We used the fund to rent a small Gatti processing unit , with local and rudimentary methods of processing with a capacity of 100kg every months ,we then decided to register the group as a cooperative so as to help empower each other. In 2022 we got an assist by le Boukarou Cameroon,this marked the begining of an amazing journey for our cooperative ,as we where able to register our products at ANOR through their help ,we branded our products and expanded our distribution line.

01.02 Quel est le problème principal que vous essayez de résoudre ?

Our Vision is to provide high quality nutritious food to the African growing population. There is enormous potential for the cassava industry in Cameroon to enhance food and nutritional security, while contributing to household and economic growth. Us been Involve in the cultivation and harvesting and processing of cassava revolve around subsistence cultivation to use of crude equipment and traditional means in its processing as this has open up a wide gap between production and meeting the demands of the ever-increasing population of Cameroon. Our products and services fits into the overall need of the individual/families/national demand with a viable economic and market trends for the products. The Usage of the products has continue to increase because of the constant increase in the population of Cameroon and the world at large and the increase rural urban migration which has increase the number of families depending on our produce Garri for their consumption.

01.03 Dites-nous quels sont les principaux avantages et/ou bénéfices de l'utilisation du produit/service fourni par votre startup (au moins 3).

Garri is a stable food in African and Cameroon in particular . With Garri in every home ,hunger will be greatly reduced by at least by 70% second to rice garri is the must eaten food in African , especially by the less privileged families in rural areas ,they depend on garri for thier survival and also for thier daily bread. With Gatti in every home we will be sure that at least a family has eaten before going to bed . Now we are trying to brand the garri ,so that we will give it more value and also help the less privileged feel important, But hey we discovered after branding that even the first class citizens as we call it ,started buying and became our largest customer base, meaning the value added to the garri have them a sense of belonging. Infact we had a lot of feedbacks and they where like,many if them never liked to buy garri because of the way it's sold in the market ,but with this branding and well bagged they will start eating garri from us.

At least 75% of Cameroun's population. Neighboring countries like Congo, Nigeria,human, equatorial Guinea,Gabon etc Our target will be the huge markets in South west, Douala, Yaoundé and the markets in the neighboring African countries; because garri is one of the most staple foods in Africa our main target will be the families in Cameroon.

Management team The management of Nan-agric is consisting of the General manager, human resource manager , chief quality control officer and chief processors . The General manager will establish an effectively team force to manage the day to day activities of the farm . We will be taking records and personal note of every activity on a daily basis and oversee every marketing strategy , we will sell our chicken sausage to wholesalers, retailers and directly to consumers. Let me introduce to you the management team of Nan-agric . With the implementation of the cassava processing plant ,alot of rural women will have jobs in the factory and will have a monthly wage ,this will help them to improve their standard of living and also help them to provide for their basic needs.

Cassava is a great source of Carbohydrate ,which is one of the must important Nutritional components when it comes to well being ,as it gives energy which helps to keep the body straight up and working . Cassava transformed into garri wand Foufou will help the consumers to easily consume it in different forms. Also it doubles as a fiber ,which helps in digestive and facilitates stool.

Yes we strongly support gender equality ,even when you look at our team it's made up of 85% women ,bei we believe that women are to be giving a chance to show their capabilities ,and along the line we have relieved that women are better managers than men . Also looking at the farming sector women turn to be the backbone of the agricultural sector,from cultivation to processing .

It will be first of it's kind in Cameroun..to have a garri processing plant . There are mini processing plant in Nigerian and Ghana ,but not in Cameroun. Thia will be an innovation of it's kind and also the infrastructure will contribute or add up to the number of already existing mini factories in Cameroun.

We practice Sustainable Agriculture ,that is we cultivate our cassava using organic methods of farming,this helps to preserve the soil,preserve the environment and help to creat a sustainable climate.

Competitors and types of competition There is minima competition in the business except for small scale producers. The industry in terms of large scale garri production is a growing one in the south west region, so this will give opportunity for the company to thrive in the country and in the region
