EventGreen is a recycling partner dedicated to promoting sustainable waste management practices within the events sphere. EventGreen partners with your most loved events to provide a tailored and seamless recycling solution.

EventGreen is an eco-conscious enterprise that promotes sustainable waste management practices. We partner with events to provide seamless and eco-friendly recycling solutions. By diverting plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and glass bottles from landfills, EventGreen contributes to a more sustainable future. We offer various services to event organizers, including the placement of recycling bins dedicated to cans, glass, and plastic bottles at each bar, as well as throughout the venue. Green Agents monitor these bins and ensure they are promptly emptied when full. EventGreen also provides on-site trailers for the collection of filled refuse bags in real-time, minimizing disruption to the event flow. All recyclable waste, bins, and refuse bags are efficiently removed from the premises at the conclusion of the event.

Xoliswa Ben-Mazwi is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner currently working. Xoliswa started her career at one of the big four audit firms, qualifying as a CA before becoming a forensic professional. With a background in events and a passion for sustainability, Xoliswa saw fit to marry the two and so EventGreen was born.

By reducing waste, we prevent pollutants from entering our water systems. This is crucial for communities where waste management infrastructure is lacking. When we recycle, less trash ends up in landfills, which often leak harmful substances into our water sources. Moreover, recycling materials like plastic cuts down on the need for raw material extraction, which often disrupts natural water cycles and contaminates water bodies. In many South African communities, access to clean water is already limited. By recycling, we help protect our precious water resources from further contamination.

Although my family and friends currently volunteer at EvenyGreen (with exception to paid opportunity afforded to one woman), I aim to provide paid work and training opportunities as my business grows. I am currently funding EventGreen out of pocket and hope that it will one day be able to cover its own expenses but until then, I am happy that my 9 to 5 is able to fund my passion.

EventGreen competes with all waste management providers. Some event organizers are only concerned with a clean space and not the responsible disposal of waste. Many companies drop skips off at venues and collect all waste for landfill disposal without sorting the recyclable waste out. We stand out by selling the idea of green eventing to event organizers hoping to tap into their eco-conscious. We also sell the idea of participation by their patrons. Event organizers are also concerned with sponsorship, having a sustainability partner like EventGreen increases their appeal to more eco-conscious brands and partners.
