Candlenut seeds collection and processing, followed by oil extraction using cold press and solvent extraction methods. Acid and base catalysed methods of transesterification to convert oil into biodiesel. Purification of biodiesel by washing which is followed by drying. Characterization of biodiesel properties like flash point, cetane number and viscosity. Environmental impact assessment on greenhouse gases and waste management. For waste management, candlenut shells can be used for wastewater treatment in a way that they are converted to activated carbon, which is effective in removing impurities from water. The candlenut oil when purified can also be used as a skin product for people suffering skin conditions like eczema and dry skin. Potential benefits: it's a renewable and sustainable energy source, it is a non-food crop-based biodiesel production, energy security and independence, reduced carbon footprint greenhouse gas emissions, potential for job creation. and rural development.

The main problems are the unpredictable rise of fuel prices, declining supply of oil reserves, and the threat of global warming and climate change due to engine emissions. Fossil fuels have negative impacts on the environment and human health, lead to increase in greenhouse gases that lead to destruction of ozone layer and contribute to climate change. These problems provide adequate reasons to focus on renewable energy alternatives to fossil fuels. The biodiesel will overcome energy poverty. Candlenut seeds are not used as food crops therefore it will not affect food security. The candlenut shells can be used for wastewater treatment, water pollution is a significant environmental concern, and conventional treatment methods can be expensive and ineffective.

Biodiesel is a renewable energy source that can reduce dependency on fossil fuels and contributes to a sustainable energy future. Biodiesel can be used in existing diesel engines making it an alternative fuel solution. Candlenut oil as a feedstock can reduce reliance on imported fuels. Candlenut tree cultivation can provide income opportunities for rural communities. Biodiesel produces lower greenhouse gas emissions, particulate matter, and other harmful pollutants. Biodiesel has higher cetane number than petroleum diesel due to higher oxygen contents, therefore they will burn smoothly with less noise in a diesel engine.

What makes me stand out is that I can focus on candlenut oil as a distinct feedstock, ensuring high quality biodiesel production meeting international standards. Investing in research and development to improve product quality, offering various products derived from the candlenut oil. I will develop a strong brand identity and marketing.
