A rental system, subscription model, and pay-as-you-store options cater to diverse user needs. Partnerships with local governments, NGOs, and agricultural cooperatives ensure community engagement, training, and support. By reducing spoilage and increasing incomes, FreshGuard contributes to food security, economic stability, and sustainable development in Uganda.

The main problem FreshGuard aims to solve is post-harvest loss and food insecurity in Uganda, where up to 40% of perishable produce spoils due to lack of reliable cold storage, resulting in economic losses for vendors and reduced food availability for consumers.

Our project aims to serve: - Fresh produce vendors in urban and rural markets - Small-scale farmers and farmer cooperatives - Market associations and trader groups - Local communities seeking improved food security and nutrition By serving these beneficiaries, FreshGuard aims to enhance their livelihoods, increase food availability, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

The three founders: - Nansubuga Famidah: Social worker, agriculturalist, and farmer with 4+ years of experience in women's empowerment, value chain development, and market linkages. - Mwende Nasibbu Isma: IT specialist, air conditioning and refrigeration expert, farmer, and welder with 3+ years of experience in IT, 4+ years in HVAC, and 3+ years in farming. - Namubiru Shadia: Market vendor, social worker, and farmer with 4+ years of experience in market vending, 3+ years in social work, and 2+ years in farming. Together, they bring a diverse range of skills and experience in social work, agriculture, IT, market development, and technical expertise to FreshGuard.
