01.01 Décrivez votre projet en détail
According to Uganda Bureau of Statistics (2021), Uganda is well known to be one of the poorest countries in the globe with currently 12.3 million people (30.1% of the population) lived below the poverty line of U.S. $1.77 per person per day. This does not generally imply that no efforts have been done. The World Bank and other international donors have prioritized Uganda and have implemented several multi-billion projects. Individual contributions should not go unnoticed towards the same development cause. Much as all that has been done, the status is still wanting with Uganda still counted among the poorest country around the world. Raph Soap Bliss will make a transformative endeavor that blends compassion, empowerment, and sustainability. Through artisanal soap creation, empower marginalized individuals, providing them with skills, dignity, and economic independence. Each handcrafted bar will tell a story of resilience, community, and hope. With this vision, we can lather up change.
01.02 Quel est le problème principal que vous essayez de résoudre ?
Women in Uganda have been left out in the process of economic development. This situation keeps worsening as they approach child-bearing age. Sanity and hygiene is challenging due to inadequate funds to buy menstrual pads. For mothers, they try to set up low scale business that can only sustainn them to eat a day's meal. Their children are malnourished and many have turned into street vendors, putting their lives at risk of defilement, abduction for sacrificial rituals, accidents and influence of drugs. The route cause of this problem is low income. Through Rapha Soap Bliss, each sale of soap will partly benefit the vulnerabke mothers in the Ugandan community. Through financial literacy lessons, these mothers will be trained to manufacture, market, and save income to support themselves out of poverty.
01.03 Dites-nous quels sont les principaux avantages et/ou bénéfices de l'utilisation du produit/service que vous souhaitez fournir par votre projet (au moins 3).
1. With an influx of plastic bottles in Uganda countrywide, mainly due to the increasing number of businesses dealing in handwash and showering gel, bar soap is an immediate alternative to reducing plastic waste in the environment. Companies generate a n astounding volume of plastic bottles each year that either end of in lakes or on land. Worst of all, they take forever to decompose. Bar soap is the best way to protect the environment. 2. Environmental Impact. Laundry bar soap significantly contributes to reducing plastic pollution. Unlike liquid laundry detergents that come in plastic bottles, bar soap typically has minimal or no packaging. This enables us to actively participate in achieving SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by minimizing plastic waste and promoting sustainable packaging practices.

05.08 Justification de mon projet
Bar soap has a very big market in the market economy of Uganda. Both local and imported products are sold on the local market. However, these products are very expensive due to the high tax rates in Uganda and not affordable by marginalized Ugandans. The bar soap market is also very wide and has a ready market because it as an essential commodity in the country.
05.09 Qui sont vos principaux potentiels concurrents et qu'est-ce qui vous différencie d'eux ?
The major competitors are Mukwano Industries Ltd the manifactures of Mukwano bar soap and Chapa Nyota bar soap, Bidco Africa Ltd the manufaturers of White Star bar soap. This project will use cheap and locally purchased raw materials like palm oils to reduce on the cost of production and have a cheaper but high quality bar soap fit enough to be purchased and used by local communities in Uganda.
10.06 Menez-vous des actions au sein de votre communauté pour promouvoir le rôle des femmes entrepreneurs ?
Yes. I often have discussions with female friends about their business ideas and advise them on the best strategies to implement them and win. Further to that, I have financially supported female counterparts with capital to startup businesses in line with clothing, jewellery and bakery.
