01.01 Décrivez votre projet en détail
Over 81% of the farmers are still engaging in rain-fed subsistence farming. This dependence on natural weather conditions poses significant risks to economic growth. Despite employing over 60% of the population and contributing 24% to GDP, productivity in the agricultural sector remains low due to traditional farming methods and outdated equipment. By introducing precision agriculture and access to modern services, we shall enhance productivity, stabilise farmer incomes, and ensure food security. The objective of this project is to empower Ugandan farmers through advanced agricultural technologies focused on traceability, supply chain management, and intelligent data analysis. Farmers will make informed decisions, enhance productivity and sustainability. This initiative will drive economic growth and sustainability in rural communities and stabilise prices, farmer incomes and limited export earnings.

Continued reliance on traditional agricultural practices and limited access to data present several challenges that significantly hinder productivity, low output and economic growth. Most farmers engage in rain-fed subsistence farming, making them vulnerable to erratic weather patterns and climate change. The lack of reliable monitoring & detection systems can lead to crop failures, food insecurity, and unstable incomes. Furthermore, traditional farming methods, which often include manual labour and outdated tools, limit the potential for large-scale production and efficiency. Additionally, the lack of access to modern technologies and effective supply chain management limits the sector's growth and economic potential. Farmers often face difficulties in predicting market trends, managing inventory, and optimising resource use, which further exacerbates their vulnerability and results in famine.

Increased Productivity: Adoption of precision agriculture techniques, such as GPS-guided planting and harvesting, soil health monitoring, and data-driven crop management, will significantly boost crop yields. Stabilized Incomes: Advanced supply chain management and data analysis tools will help farmers make better market decisions, ensuring stable and higher incomes by reducing post-harvest losses and improving market access. Enhanced Food Security: Improved agricultural practices, including crop diversification and integrated pest management, will ensure consistent and reliable food production, mitigating the impact of climate variability. Economic Growth: Higher productivity and stable incomes will contribute to national economic growth, fostering rural development and reducing poverty. Targeted Beneficiaries Smallholder Farmers: Primary beneficiaries who will gain access to modern farming tools and techniques, enabling them to increase yields and incomes.

Local Entrepreneurs: Opportunities in agricultural processing, value addition, and agribusiness will be enhanced, promoting entrepreneurship and job creation. Integrated traceability and supply chain management: Tracking and managing farmer records. These ensures individual are able to trace the extent of their products. Through investments in technology, such as precision farming tools the project would create new employment opportunities in agriculture and related industries. By improving efficiency and reducing production costs, it enables farmers to increase their incomes and improve livelihoods.
