Let's say you’re an impaired businesswoman and you need to fix a problem to improve something. Your mind is already troubled with social stigma and yet you want to cultivate the habit of mindful spending. You want to be able to consciously manage your expenses and become a better steward of your resources, a better version of yourself at your own pace, with similar minds sharing the same collective vision at proximity. And for that, nothing works better than a community workshop. Our workshop is like a suitcase that packs humans and machine learning where financial inclusion instructions are uploaded to your brain that you can put in practice the next day to shape your life according to your means. Getting it where you want, how you want it, is our challenge and we have a mapping system that stems from an IKIGAI alignment. Therefore through our project, we aim to develop a solution that addresses your own needs first to then pass it on and empower more like you.
01.02 Quel est le problème principal que vous essayez de résoudre ?
Problem Statement for the Current System: More than 70% of Mauritians actively use social media and messaging platforms like Facebook and yet, we still need to address the behavior design of impaired minority group users related to finance and technology. And despite the proliferation of smartphones, a 2022 Fintech Survey says only 17% of households report using dedicated budgeting apps on a regular basis, of which only 3% are women with no official statistics for the impaired. Our Framing Question: What are the forces that prevent our impaired businesswomen to foster financial inclusion using simple fintech tools to manage their day to day lives? Reframing Problems into Opportunities: HOW MIGHT WE facilitate the lives of impaired women entrepreneurs to easily manage financial records on smartphone in order for them to address their financial inclusion and become valuable assets to our economy?

Our shared vision stems from an IKIGAI alignment. In the quest to illuminate the path of financial literacy, a team of compassionate warriors emerges, each driven by a unique calling to serve the underserved. Jacqueline, a beacon in the fight against social injustice, partners with NGOs, her voice a clarion call for first aiders. Mireille navigates the stormy seas of poverty, ensuring no child is denied the adventure of scouting due to financial constraints. Samela, a guardian of the voiceless, dedicates herself to NGOs caring for stray and mistreated dogs, her actions a testament to the interconnectedness of all life. Sheran is a UN Volunteer who supports NGOs rehabilitating substance abusers, her journey a beacon of hope amidst the darkness of addiction. Nitish, the team's anchor, leads the team with a resolve forged from witnessing a loved one's struggle with social stigmata due to disability. Together, they weave hope, their stories a symphony of resilience and transformation.

05.08 Justification de mon projet
Mofinans appears to be an improvement on existing financial literacy and expense tracking services. While similar products exist, they often fail to adequately serve marginalized, poor, handicapped, disabled, and slow-learning individuals. These groups may not be using existing services due to the Lack of accessibility features, user experience deemed complex for those who look for a continuous improvement in their financial education that they can immediately integrate in their lives, Insufficient consideration of their specific needs and challenges, Limited outreach and awareness in their communities. Mofinans can be considered an extension of existing financial management services that's tailored specifically for a target group of disabled minorities in marginalized communities by order of regions. It does respond to a demand that has not been adequately satisfied by other products/services lacking accessible financial literacy tools for marginalized communities.
05.09 Qui sont vos principaux potentiels concurrents et qu'est-ce qui vous différencie d'eux ?
Traditional Financial Apps: Mofinans caters specifically to marginalized women with disabilities, unlike broader financial apps like Mint or YNAB Microfinance Institutions (MFIs): Mofinans goes beyond just microloans, focusing on personalized financial literacy education Government/NGO Programs: Existing programs might lack accessibility or reach for the target audience. Mofinans Stands Out with its accessibility, personalized education on-site with a focus on marginalized groups by community and has proximity solutions with continuous support. The key differentiators are the focus on the target audience, accessibility and simplicity, a holistic approach on financial literacy, localized content based on regions, and adaptive learning that the users can put to practise and immediately integrate with our support groups.
