Vegetables cooking oil processing project involved in production of oil from plant based cereals, soya, sunflower and nuts . The objective is to provide affordable cooking oil and market access to cereals farmers in the community

01.01 Décrivez votre startup en détail

My start start up is about processing of plant based oil vegetables to produce affordable cholesterol free cooking oil. Plant such as soya beans, sunflower, olive seeds are our main raw materials, We buy these raw materials from farmers around prevailing market prices, we are processing using government institution machinery for example Kenya Industrial Research and Development institute (KIRDI) because they offer training and incubation on the same at a relatively affordable cost, but because it's government institution, machines break down at it takes time to fix due to logistics involved in repairs, these makes our production inconsistent, as per now our main customers are local households in the community, local hotels and restaurants.

Our products vegetables cooking oil offer affordable cholesterol free vegetative based oil , good for health and it's pure no additional additives or preserves, can be used in all cookings, frying, baking and preservation of food

Our target customer are the middle class and lower class the poor , they make the majority of population, they they are the most affected with high cost of oil and majority of them are the ones using solid fats, our products is suited for them because they are also the most affected people with lifestyle diseases caused by solid fats

Because we work together with farmers in the community to sustain our production, us buying oil cereals from them , they earn an income, further more our future plan is to expand our production and these will mean creating more jobs reducing poverty

We are still still creating a customer base. Our market share is below 10% in Western region. But growing steadily. Our products are improved versions of existing products in the market addressing emerging issues that previous products are not addressing

Yes , I live in suburban area in Bungoma, my business support entrepreneurs especially mothers in rural areas who are involved in internsive cereal production such as sunflower, soya beans , and ground nuts through access to market. I buy from them directly at prevailing competitive market price. Sometimes Agronomic support especially on soil tests and cereals crop production training.
