He is a civil engineer with expertise in waste management, recycling, and the circular economy. Benson is a 2022 Mandela Washington Fellow, 2023 Metis Fellow, and 2023 Jasiri Fellow. As the founder of M-taka, an award-winning tech-integrated waste management and recycling social enterprise, Benson is dedicated to making a lasting impact and shaping a better future for communities across the continent. He is also the founder of Homeless of Kisumu, a non-profit improving the well-being and livelihoods of vulnerable groups in the Kenyan Western Region. Benson has collaborated with notable partners such as USAID, GIZ, Global Affairs Canada, Michigan State University, and the US Embassy-Kenya.
