Mfugo.com is a marketplace for buying and selling livestock and livestock supplies. The platform brings onboard all breeds of dairy cows, goats and sheep for sale posted by farmers/sellers across the country. Farm supplies are also available.

Mfugo.com (Mfugo - swahili word meanign livestock) is a platforms that brings together livestock sellers and buyers. A farmer selling a cattle/goats/sheep create a free account and upload the livestock details including breed, location, price, veterinary approval, whether or not they will provide transport. Buyers will browser the livestock listing based on livestock, breed, location, price, gender. They will then get results based on the filter. They contact seller and complete transaction freely on their own. Livestock supplier similarly will post their listings, such equipment, veterinary services, feeds, farm inputs etc. Farmers who will be interested in other farm services will find this category useful since it is dedicated to farm supplies only.

Problem: Most livestock buyers and sellers have to meet physically on market days or visit agricultural shows in order to sell/buy livestock or depending on hugely on brokers to source livestock for sale or get buyers for them. This approach is not always effective since farmers have to wait and keep travelling frequently if they are to get quality livestock and livestock services

A one stop platform for all things livestock farming from livestock itself to services such veterinary, supplies, inputs, training materials etc 4. It is online and available everywhere

There are other products such as social media groups the uses may use sometimes to sell/buy livestock. This is a generic solution and do not accommodate to specific need of livestock industry. It also not scalable

Social Media and Jiji.co.ke. Social media is group and not scalable to handle specific need of the livestock industry. Jiji on the other hand is a marketplace for everything from jobs, lands, cars, spare parts, CVs, fashions and anything. We shall be standing out as a platform dedicated for livestock only and has all the functionality and added values for the specific industry
