The Project is aimed at helping the County government in waste management activities. Our target is the residential areas which county waste collection trucks don't access and this has led to the establishment of illegal small dumpsites

Ukunda town faces waste management challenges due to its high population density and limited waste management resources. The local government and private companies have implemented waste collection and disposal strategies. The government is working to expand and improve waste disposal facilities, as well as to implement waste separation programs and create awareness campaigns. Participation of the community in waste management initiatives such as clean-up drives and training programs is also encouraged. Despite these efforts, obstacles remain due to a lack of public awareness, limited resources, and insufficient waste disposal We propose the implementation of a comprehensive waste collection and management project in Ukunda, Mombasa, to improve the community's overall cleanliness and environmental sustainability. This project will include not only waste collection but also educational and training programs to raise community awareness about proper waste management practices.

01.02 Quel est le problème principal que vous essayez de résoudre ?

Ukunda town faces waste management challenges due to its high population density and limited waste management resources. The county government is trying but it is overwhelmed since some areas are inaccessible since they are more interior and this has led to the establishment of uncontrolled illegal dumpsites in the residential area hence polluting the environment. Our target is to ferry the waste from these areas to the county waste collection centers or the county dumpsites. Also we noticed

The project will; 1. Encourage and enforce proper waste collection and disposal practices in Ukunda. 2. Reduce pollution caused by improper waste management. 3. Improve public health by limiting disease spread through proper waste management. 4. Raise community awareness and education about the importance of waste management and its impact on the environment and public health. 5. Aid in the development of a long-term waste management system in Mombasa. 6. Encourage the community to use environmentally friendly waste management practices such as recycling and composting. 7. Provide community members with the knowledge and skills they need to participate actively in waste management initiatives. 8. Encourage community participation and collaboration in waste management activities. 9. Use waste reduction and reuse strategies, to reduce the overall volume of waste generated in Ukunda

My business is aimed at helping the general public/community conserve the environment. The target is the estates in areas where no proximity to the designated county waste collection centers and the collection centers are too far so we provide them with waste segregation bins and collect the waste to dispose it according to set standards.
