YHK AGRI BUSINESS deals in livestock farming,mainly piggery. The business currently operates in mwembeshi on a rented farm. This year we plan to incorporate maize, sunflower and soya beans farming to enable us to make our own animal feed to reduce costs.

YHK Agri business is a new private livestock farm located in mwembeshi 60km away from Lusaka town and 5km away from mumbwa road. It is founded by Ms Penzya Siatwiinda and was incorporated in November 2023. The farm currently has 80 pigs and 300 broiler chickens, it operates on a rented land property of about 1 hectare. YHK Agri business is mainly into piggery and will be involved in commercial breeding of pigs and other livestock. We are in the pig farming business because we want to leverage on the vast opportunities available in the livestock farming industry, to contribute our quota in the growing of the Zambian economy, in national food (meat) production, raw materials production for industries and to export agriculture produce from Zambia to other countries e.g. the democratic republic of Congo (DRC) and make profit. The farm is also undertaking poultry business (broiler chickens) as way of sustaining and feeding the pigs.Mainze,soyabeans and sunflower farming to be incorporated.

01.02 Quel est le problème principal que vous essayez de résoudre ?

The main problem we are trying to solve is that of purchasing land, farming equipments/ machinery, utility vehicle and farming inputs to be able to implement the plan of incorporating maize, sunflower and soya beans for cooking oil and animal feed production. We want to have our own farming land so that we have enough space for breeding pigs and crop farming. We also look forward in purchasing a tractor and an oil expeller to easy our plan of crop farming and produce enough products to meet the demand. If we manage to purchase our own land we also want to have a solar irrigation system on the so that we are able to produce maize, sunflower and soya beans throughout the year for continuity of production and cash flow. We also lack Capital to buy farming inputs and implement the plan of maize, sunflower and soya beans farming. Utility vehicle for easy deliveries and other operations errands.These are the main problems we are trying to solve.

PIGS BENEFITS 1. pork meat production which is very nutritious and health. 2. Production of cheese,beacon, ham,pork loin,polony and sausage. 3.production of medicines as pork meat is a source of zinc,selenium and vitamins B12 and B6, Niacin and riboflavin. BROILER CHICKENS 1.production of chicken meat which is medically recommended as it prevents and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal cancers. Broiler meat chicken is a rich source of nutrition that can enhance the immune system and reduce the risk of various diseases. 2.production of chicken polony,Vienna's and sausage MAIZE, SUNFLOWER AND SOYABEANS these crops are rich in carbohydrates, proteins, minerals and vitamins which helps fight against diseases and promotes the wellbeing of an individual.

The business is to benefit the citizens of Zambia and other neighbouring country like DRC in terms of food security and boosting the economy of Zambia through job creation and exports to the neighbouring countries. On the other hand this project is to benefit the underserved population of Zambia, women and girls and youths and child headed families through job creation, empowerment and teaching them the skills involved in farming and other survival skills. Our neighboring countries like DRC will greatly benefit from our product through export as the mainly depend on the Zambian market for farming products, so they are also out target beneficiaries or target market.

The business is founded by only Ms penzya siatwiinda, Ms penzya siatwiinda has knowledge and experience in piggery. She gained her experience in piggery through attending livestock farming webinars and she has lived on a family farm for over 10 years,the family farm is dealing mainly in crop farming, cattle rearing and goats and few goats. Her inspiration and motivation is drawn from associating herself with piggery farmers who have impacted so much knowledge in her and she decided a bold step of starting her own piggery farming with 8 pigs and in six months she has manage to reach 80 pigs which were as a results of the 8 pigs reproducing. The farm manager who is an employee has knowledge and experience in animal husbandry, he has over 5 years of experience in piggery and pig breeding. He has show so much deduction and innovation for the past months I have worked with him.

Health and nutrition, YHK AGRIBUSINESS aims at contributing to the health and nutrition wellbeing of the citizens of Zambia. Pork meat is very nutrious and medicinal,this will prevent and reduce/halting the malnutrition levels in the country. This project has incorporated the farming of maize, soyabeans and sunflower these are all nutritious crops and this means that we aim at providing a holistic approach in reducing poverty,from nshima ( maize) to meat (piggery).

This products are very nutritious and contribute greatly the wellbeing of people as they have very high protein content. On other hand pharmaceutical companies use pig products to make drugs and also health practitioners recommend the consumption of pork meat to boost our immunity as it is a rich source of zinc,selenium,and vitamins B12,B6,Niacin and riboflavin. maize, sunflower and soya beans will help reduce malnutrition levels in the country as these crops are a good source of carbohydrates,fibers, proteins. And these crops helps fight against diseases and support the immune system.

We will also educate and emphasis behavior change interventions so that water is kept safe during collection, transportation, storage and use.

There is large number of people who uses pork meat and other products. The demand is very high.

06.09 Analyse compétitive

My man competitor is zambeef and other piggery farmers. Most times zambeef runs out of pigs/ port to sale and they end up contacting other farms who mostly do not have enough to supply. Most piggery farmers do not like to keep alot of pigs due to the high cost of animals feeds. YHK AGRIBUSINESS will stand out because we plan to make our own food to be able to sustain the piggery and breed throughout the year.
