Describe your project or startup in a few words
Drone Technology Training offer technical drone manufacturing that aims to create architecture for drones which is easy to establish, evolve and scale as needed for commercial purposes in areas Agriculture, traffic monitoring, disaster management, health
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Zimbabwe has been lagging behind in terms of manufacturing and distribution of drones that have benefits in agriculture, public health, disaster management, water resources management, urban development, transport and security. There is as serious shortage of technical skills to develop tailor made drones that can be used for commercial purposes. Drone Training seeks to train and manufacture drones that will be distributed in all sectors of the economy in Zimbabwe. Many sectors of the economy such as agriculture, mining, water management, disaster risk management are underperforming because of absence of skills to utilize drones and also to develop the drones in Zimbabwe. The training will include establishment of UTM system, geo-fencing, drone corridors, and other critical infrastructures, like drone port to study their functioning and impact on the society and explore scope for improvement to enable the growth of the technology and market, combining with emerging technologies
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Drones are under utilized in Zimbabwe and to hire a drone it is very expensive and many small scale farmers failed to get access to the drones . They is lack of knowldge and technical skills to use and develop drones in Zimbabwe in different parts of the economy that has resulted in problems such as high traffic congestion, poor disaster management, poor urban planning, poor farming, poor water management, high wildlife poaching and increased human wildlife conflict. This has affected the delivery of public goods and services as most local authorities in Zimbabwe, government ministries and private sector organization are under utilizing and in most cases there is absence on the adoption of the technology. We believe investing in skills that can be transferred towards social and economic development and this will create Zimbabwean manufactured drones, distribution of more drones for commercial purposes, creation of job employment, and improving the livelihood of the community
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
The First advantage of the training Hub is to offer the training of technical skills on the use and management of drones, secondly this will involve the assembling and manufacturing of drones for different commercial purposes, thirdly will be the application and implementation of the drones in different sectors of the economy that include transport, energy, water, agriculture, mining, wildlife management and the environment. In addition the project will open doors for employment thereby reducing poverty.
