Road and Safety Watch is a business project mainly focusing on the road users and also safety of individuals. It comes through a web application and mobile applications which informs and alerts the road users, stakeholders and individuals on any dangers

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Road and Safety Watch aims in informing the public on all things happening on the road or in the community. It aims reduce fatalities and road accidents. Road and Safety Watch concept comes through the use of a web application or mobile applications which send through notifications. It will be used by different stakeholders depending on how best they can make it useful. Currently from my research road users who could be drivers or pedestrians can use it through getting alerts on their devices after registering. The alerts that they will get are road accidents notifications on certain roads within their proximity, road works, road blocks, malfunctioning traffic lights and even notification on which roads to use with less congestions. Other stake holders who can benefit are Police officers, if there is an accident they will be able to get the information and will be able to send their representatives on the scene. Insurance companies, Fuel Suppliers, Service Centres and other interested

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem that we want to solve is that they should be safety in roads and communities. We want to minimize fatalities. We want to see how best we can reduce road accidents and at the end also offer quality service to users who will be using the web and mobile application

Major benefits of using this service is that 1. The user will be getting alerts of their surroundings 2. The user can also input information or feedback 3. The users can benefit by having some stakeholders assisting them incase they face accidents or incidents

The beneficiaries are mentioned below 1. Road users be it pedestrians, passengers or drivers 2. Health care like accident response units 3. Police Officers for the traffic section 4. Insurance companies 5. Towing service companies 6. Service Centre 7. Fire Response Units 8. Other interested Stakeholders who might see it beneficial to them

It promotes no poverty goals because those using the application will be informed about dangers around them therefore some might benefit by getting jobs by trying to clear up the dangers. With reduced accidents it also reduces deaths therefore families are not affected by the death of their parents.

The main potential competitors would be companies that are into car tracking services. The main advantage that we have is that the interface allows interaction of users. There is two way communication therefore ensuring effective communication
