Traditional manual temperature monitoring practices have proven to be time-consuming, inaccurate, and limited in capturing crucial temperature variations throughout the day. This leads to stressed fish, reduced production, and increased mortality rates. AquaTemp addresses these challenges by offering a mobile-powered solution for remote temperature monitoring. The system consists of a user-friendly mobile application connected to submersible sensors in the fishpond. These sensors continuously collect water temperature data and transmit it wirelessly to the application. Key features of AquaTemp include real-time monitoring, alerts and notifications, data visualization, and a user-friendly interface. These features empower fish farmers to make data-driven decisions about their operations, leading to improved fish health, increased production, and reduced resource waste.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
In Africa, inaccurate temperature monitoring in fishponds due to manual readings leads to stressed fish, lower production, and higher mortality rates. AquaTemp tackles this by offering a mobile application with a network of submersible sensors. These sensors continuously collect water temperature data and transmit it wirelessly. Farmers can access real-time readings and historical trends on their phones, allowing them to maintain optimal conditions for fish health and boost production.
