NsamaYetu a female business adventure that that uses floating cage techniques using recycle plastics and locally made feeds to farm fish in Katebi reservoir area of the Lualaba river
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
NsamaYetu is a business idea that empowers women along the lualaba river with opportunities for productive fish farming along the wides areas of the Lualaba river using floating cages made principally from recycled plastic to reduce the plastic waste and water pollution. In addition, NsamaYetu take advantage of the large produce of local products such cassava, soya, rice, and potatoes to produces low cost fish feeds. Moreover, the business will depend on locally produced fingerlings to sustain the production.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Lualaba river faces fish shortage due to uncontrolled fishing and increasing jobless population along the river and increasing fish demands from fast developing towns of Kolwezi. On the other side, the continuous pollution of water sources and reservoirs by plastic products endangers both aquatic and human life by exposing the them to toxic environment. As such, NsameYetu tackles the problem of fish shortage, lack of job opportunities, plastic waste, and alternative usage of locally produced food products.

The major benefits of using fish farming using floating cage techniques that there is controlled and large scale fish production throughout the year to meet demands; plastic waste reduction and low cost fishing technique by using recycling plastic products to construct floating cages; increased job opportunities and provide an alternative means of using local food produce to enhance business markets; conversation of the Lualaba aquatic life through sensitization of better fish farming techniques.

05.08 Justification
NsamaYetu uses recycled plastics to develop floating cages and local food products to produce fish feds thus the project works on already existing floating cage technology using the creative aspect of recycled materials

Import suppliers, however NsamaYetu rely on local resources and does not involve import tax thus making product low costly. Moreover, promote responsible fish farming that meet fish demands throughout the year using cheap method and innovative floating cages
