MIRAI Therapeutics’ project is centered on a peptide-based stealth coating designed for nanomedicines. This innovative coating allows nanoparticles to circulate undetected by the immune system, thereby increasing the delivery efficiency of therapeutic agents directly to target cells. The technology aims to minimize adverse immune reactions and maximize the therapeutic potential of nanomedicines. The ultimate goal is to license this technology to pharmaceutical companies for use in a wide range of medical applications in the nanomedicines' field

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main challenge MIRAI Therapeutics is tackling is the opsonization of nanoparticles by the immune system, a process that marks them for clearance and can trigger thromboinflammation. This immune response reduces the effectiveness of nanomedicines and can lead to complications. The stealth coating aims to prevent opsonization, ensuring that nanomedicines can safely and efficiently reach their target cells and perform their intended therapeutic functions.
