A smart manhole cover continuously monitors sewage channels, proactively detecting and identifying faults, providing early warnings and precise diagnostics.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

The manhole cover contains a smart circuit that enables it to monitor sewage channels, detect blockages, toxic gases, and even its own status. It identifies the type of issue and its location, sending all information to an application.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem we are trying to solve is the lack of monitoring in sewage systems, which negatively impacts health, the environment, and the economy. This is evident through several phenomena, including theft of manhole covers, leakage of contaminated water into the environment due to delayed detection of blockages, and toxic gases that have caused many maintenance workers' deaths.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

1. Early Detection and Prevention: The system can detect blockages and toxic gases early, preventing potential hazards and reducing the risk of accidents and health problems. 2. Reducing Manhole Cover Theft: Thanks to the monitoring and early alert system, smart manhole covers can decrease incidents of cover theft, thereby reducing the costs associated with replacing stolen covers and contributing to the overall safety of the city. 3. Time and Effort Savings: The smart manhole cover system contributes to reducing the time and effort required to monitor sewage system status and implement preventive maintenance, enhancing maintenance operation efficiency and reducing costs associated with emergency repairs.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Potential competitors for my project may include well-established companies that manufacture traditional sewage covers, in addition to emerging startups focusing on individual solutions such as detecting blockages or pressure detection only. What sets our project apart is that our single device in the form of a cover comprehensively addresses all these issues, in addition to our efforts to combat theft of sewage covers. This integration of advanced monitoring capabilities and security features distinguishes our project, providing a holistic solution for municipalities and infrastructure managers facing these challenges.

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

I share my simple experience with women with ideas to help them enter the field of entrepreneurship. I help them build a prototype for their ideas. I share my experience with everyone.
