Beza production & academy will be a women owned and operated company that creates content focusing on the challenges that women and children face and provides a platform where students that align with the vision of the company can learn content creation.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

My goal is to build a production company and academy that produces content focusing on women’s and children’s societal challenges in Ethiopia. Movies, series', written content, and documentaries that are educational, engaging, and uplifting : That have the power to create change and help ease the inequalities and challenges women and children face in Ethiopia. I want to build an academy that teaches content creation, short videos, movies, documentaries, and written content, to aspiring students that have the willingness and desire to effect societal change using the knowledge they gain from the academy.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Women and children face a lot of challenges that need to be addressed, including domestic violence, child labor, harmful and illegal traditional customs and practices. Artforms such as Movies, Documentaries, Written contents... have the power to address those challenges and issues, start a conversation, and pave the way for problems to be solved. There are only a handful of production and film academies in Ethiopia, and the need for more academies that teaches content creation/production is apparent. The academy will also accept students that have the proclivity to take on societal challenges and have the desire to create educational and engaging content focusing on challenges facing women and children.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

Consuming content created by the company will help the consumer gain more knowledge to better themselves and their community. Consuming content created by the company will help the consumer gain skills to better themselves and their community. Content created to spark conversations and highlight societal issues will help solve targeted issues and have a positive impact. Consumers of content created by the company will be entertained while being educated. Students learning in the academy will gain knowledge and experience to go out and create worthwhile, educational, and engaging content similar to what the company creates, multiplying the positive effect the company tries to conjure.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

The company will create content for everyone. The main targets for the created content are women and children, but the challenges and issues that women and children face need the attention and cooperation of all people, so our content will be targeting everyone. The academy will target and benefit students that want to create content that focuses on societal issues. More than 60% of students will also be women.

The company will create content and provide free online courses that focuses on food security, food production, water management, urban gardening, and so on… to help people become self sufficient and independent when it comes to their food and water needs.

Content that will have a positive impact on the well being and health of women and children will be produced. Most people, especially in rural areas are illiterate and don’t have the knowledge to protect themselves and their children from easily preventable diseases. Providing people with the knowledge and know how on how to protect themselves from illness by creating easily digestible and engaging content will be one of the company's priorities.

Movies, documentaries, written content, and series' will be produced and made available to the public with the goal of educating and opening the minds of the people to new possibilities and new ideas that will help ease the challenges women and children face. Ethiopia's entertainment and production industry will benefit immensely from having a production company and academy that puts out quality content and highly educated professionals. Ethiopia will be much more competitive in the world stage when it comes to production and entertainment reducing the inequalities and uneven reach other countries have when it comes to production and entertainment.

The production company and academy that I want to create is different in what we are going to focus on creating content for - societal issues, education, and challenges women and children face will be the priority subjects. Students enrolling in the academy will also need to align with the company's vision and will go on to create content that focuses on education, societal issues and challenges women and children face,

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Traditional production companies and academies focus on teaching and making content that focuses highly on entertainment value and monetary return of production projects, Beza Production and Academy will focus solely on creating content on societal issues, education, and challenges that women and children face. Students will also be evaluated and taught to create content that focuses on societal issues and challenges.

I am currently involved in courses for entrepreneurs and I have networks of women entrepreneurs that I share ideas with and help with the knowledge and resources at my disposal.
