01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Taye Farm, located in Halaba Zone, Ethiopia, transitioned from traditional rain-fed to modern irrigation-based farming in 2022. It was officially registered as a for-profit business in 2024. The farm offers year-round high-quality vegetable crops like onions and tomatoes, overcoming seasonal constraints. With limited competition in irrigation practices, Taye seizes the opportunity to educate and encourage local farmers to adopt these advanced methods. Taye's customer base spans Halaba, Silte Zone, parts of Oromia region, and Addis Ababa. Committed to sustainability, the farm implements environmentally friendly practices ensuring long-term soil health and water conservation while creating jobs and supporting the local economy. Achieved remarkable success, educating 20 local farmers on irrigation-based farming, with 3 adopting these practices. Future goals include expanding operations, exploring new markets (particularly international), and continuing to innovate agricultural practices

List of main problems Farm try to solve: 1. Low Agricultural Productivity Agricultural productivity in the Halaba Zone, Wera Dijo Woreda, Alake Gero Kebele of Ethiopia is notably low. This has resulted in insufficient crop yields, which cannot meet the local demand for vegetables and other produce. 2. Lack of Access to Modern Irrigation Farming Techniques and Technologies One of the reasons for low agricultural productivity is the limited access to modern irrigation farming techniques and technologies. Traditional farming methods, heavily dependent on seasonal rains, often lead to inconsistent and poor yields. During dry spells, crops suffer, leading to significant losses for farmers. 3. Limited Availability of Local Vegetable Products The inadequate agricultural productivity also affects the availability of local vegetable products. Due to inconsistent crop yields and frequent crop failures, the supply of vegetables such as onions and tomatoes is often insufficient to meet local dem
