A Con-Tech company, established to make the dream of owning a home possible for the next generation. Our first project is Linor Roofs, a composite synthetic roof tiles, made from industrial and post-consumer plastic waste and other building materials.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

We are a Con-Tech company that focuses on developing envelope systems. Systems like roofing, wall systems, flooring, and openings. Located in the heart of the Central Regional State of Ethiopia, our project serves the Southern and south-central parts of Ethiopia as the only plastic waste recycling plant. With a recycling capacity of 100,000 kgs of plastic waste annually. And with a maximum capacity of recycling half a million kgs of plastic waste annually in the coming years. We take all this plastic waste and make timeless, durable, and affordable composite synthetic roof tiles, placing a literal roof over Ethiopian families.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

First, we stabilize the rising cost of building materials. Consequently, we clean up the environment and reduce the amount of plastic waste pollution. Secondly, we create multiple dignified jobs by formalizing the informal plastic waste market.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

1. First our roofs are one of the best-performing roofing types on a global stage. We provide a product that has quality and durability. 2. Compared to other existing premier roofing products, our materials are 35-40% cheaper. 3. The existing roofing market has very limited options. Developers and homebuilders are importing roofing products due to the limitations. Locally we can produce any type of design that can meet any architectural design. 4. Eco-friendliness, our products are made from recyclable and recycled materials that demonstrate our environmental stewardship. 5. Brand relationship, homebuilders buy not just because of the quality or the price. We understand that there is a psychological need to say something about themselves through the products they buy. We help them make the right statement with our premier blended roof tiles that offer exclusivity and uniqueness.

Our roof tiles cater to developers and homeowners seeking elegance and durability. They are ideal for residential buildings and are also a popular choice for hotels and resorts in the commercial sector, particularly within Mediterranean and Spanish architectural styles.
