Our project revolves around creating local supplies and suppliers of raw materials in the printing and packaging industry of Ethiopia.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

My name is Dagim Getachew and our company Platinum Media was established to provide high quality printing services and products with reasonable prices. In doing so, we have observed that most of the raw materials we use in our day to day work are imported anf thus are highly priced. For some time now we have been sourcing some of our supplies from local suppliers to promote and support their work. We belive there is great potential here and we are working harder than ever to promote it. This helps both our community in creating more job opportunities and also helps us tap more into our creative side while at the same time providing our customers with unique, local, and quality products. Our aim is to grow this idea as we grow our business alongside it.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

We are trying to create more and more job opportunities as the number of unemployeed people seems to be increasing. Supporting local suppliers for the printing and packaging industry in Ethiopia will help our economy and society grow and it will allow us to develope a self providing community where products are sourced and made locally.

-We provide better quality products and services. -We provide those quality products and services at a reasonably lower price. - When buying from our broad list of products and services, our customers are also supporting local suppliers and manufacturers.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

We provide our services and products to small and medium sized enterprizes, corporations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and individuals as well.

Dagmait Habte is the other owner of Platinum Media with a 50% share. She is also the head of our marketing department. Her background is in marketing and she is skilled and experinced in that area. Her communication skills and her ability to delegate have proven to be empowering and are some of the main reasons for the success of her department.

We consider most companies who provide the same services and products that we do as our potential competitors. However, what makes us stand out from them is that we provide better quality with lower prices as we source our raw materials from local suppliers.
