Describe your project or startup in a few words

Onion has been known for its seasonality in Nigeria and hence creating periods of high cost due to scarcity. But with the modern techniques I have learned I will be able to cultivate onion twice a year and preserve it locally over time without spoilage.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

No living soul can last 48hours without eating, and with exploding populations more organic and adequate means of food production need to be keyed into to satisfy the needs of the people as well as making food affordable to all. I have tried cultivating many things but have found passion in vegetables most especially onion which is a vital ingredient in any food you prepare. Onion is easy to grow as it demands low fertilizer application has little known pest and disease attacking it and I have adopted organic methods of growing it using mulch from organic plants straws. A successful onion cultivation will yield 3 times the investment made hence guaranteeing profits.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Main problem I’m facing is related to finances which was caused by unplanned circumstances like high inflation rates making things costly. Having evaluated the cost of transportation after harvest, the profit margins will be unrealistic for the quantity i project to harvest and hence suggest that a soft loan or grant is new to stem up my production.

Advantages are immense as its a vital seasoning in food most especially in processing meat ,fish in different ways.

I’m Abdulrahman lawan the owner of hwz integra farms. I’m a student currently studying agriculture and hence shows where my passion for farming comes from. I dedicated and resilient to my passion for sustainable and more organic driven agriculture due to proven cancerous nature of inorganic fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. And other chemicals used in the preservation of food.
