Describe your project or startup in a few words
OneClick-Med is a Digital Health Platform that centralizes patient registration and data management to reduce diagnosis and medication errors, drive efficiency, save cost, and foster inter-connectivity in the healthcare ecosystem in Africa.
01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
OneClick-Med targets critical inefficiencies in African healthcare systems by enhancing patient registration, data management, and healthcare interoperability. Current outdated infrastructure often leads to delays, errors, and elevated costs of repeated tests. Our platform accelerates the access to accurate comprehensive patient data, critical for diagnosis. This has a long term effect on the health outcomes of chronic disease patients. Our main beneficiaries are healthcare providers who will experience a smoother operational workflow, allowing them to focus more on patient care rather than administrative tasks. Also patients will benefit from quicker, more accurate diagnoses and treatments, improving overall medical outcomes and satisfaction. Additional beneficiaries include health insurance companies, R&D, government entities, and pharmaceutical companies, all of whom rely on robust data analysis.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
OneClick-Med aims to tackle the pervasive inefficiencies in African healthcare systems by enhancing patient registration, data management, and interoperability across healthcare providers. Our key objective is to solve the problems caused by outdated/inadequate infrastructures and manual processes that lead to high cost, long wait times, errors in diagnosis, and suboptimal patient outcomes. We focus on improving the accesibility, speed and accuracy of medical data handling, which is often compromised by these inefficiencies. By introducing a digital platform that supports seamless data exchange and access, we enable healthcare providers to offer quicker, more accurate medical services, thereby significantly improving the overall quality of healthcare. This solution not only benefits healthcare providers by simplifying administrative tasks but also enhances patient care across various communities, particularly in underserved regions.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).
OneClick-Med's digital healthcare platform offers several significant benefits and advantages: 1. Enhanced Efficiency: By digitizing patient registration and records management, our platform significantly reduces administrative overhead for healthcare providers. This leads to faster patient processing, shorter wait times, and more time for healthcare staff to focus on patient care. 2. Improved Accuracy: Our system ensures the accuracy and availability of medical data across different healthcare facilities. This interoperability prevents diagnostic errors by giving healthcare professionals instant access to complete patient histories, improving treatment outcomes. 3. Greater Accessibility: OneClick-Med makes critical healthcare information accessible in remote and underserved areas. By accommodating various local languages and adapting to low-bandwidth environments, our platform ensures that all patients, regardless of their location, have access to quality healthcare services.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
OneClick-Med’s digital healthcare platform is specifically designed to serve healthcare providers and patients within the African healthcare sector. Our primary targets are: 1. Healthcare Providers: Hospitals, clinics, and health centers across Africa, especially those in rural and underserved regions that struggle with outdated systems. Our platform aids these institutions by streamlining patient management, improving data flow, and facilitating more effective treatment delivery. 2. Medical Professionals: Doctors, nurses, and administrative staff who experience daily challenges due to inefficient healthcare processes. OneClick-Med enhances their operational efficiency, allowing them to spend more time on patient care rather than administrative tasks. 3. Patients: Particularly those in remote areas who currently face significant barriers to accessing quality healthcare. Our platform improves the speed and accuracy of the medical care they receive, enhancing their overall health outcome

06.08 Justification for my startup
OneClick-Med could be described as involving new technology to a certain extent, especially in the context of its application and integration within the African healthcare sector. While the foundational technologies used in our platform—such as cloud-based data management, electronic medical records (EMR), and interoperability solutions—are not new globally, the way they are adapted and implemented to address specific regional challenges in Africa represents a novel approach. Our platform incorporates advanced analytics, machine learning capabilities, and is designed to operate effectively even in low-resource settings, which can be considered innovative in terms of technological deployment and usage. Thus, while the technology itself may not be new, its application, customization, and the problems it solves in the African context add a layer of novelty and innovation.
06.09 Competitive Analysis
OneClick-Med distinguishes itself in a competitive digital healthcare market by focusing on solutions specifically tailored to African healthcare challenges. While competitors like mPharma enhance medication access, and Helium Health and Babylon Health provide broad digital health services, OneClick-Med excels in: 1. Interoperability: Seamlessly integrating healthcare IT systems between different healthcare provider systems across Africa. 2. Local Adaptation: Tailoring technology to local languages, demographics, and infrastructures. 3. Comprehensive Integration: Merging various functionalities like EMR, unified registration, and interoperability into one system. 4. Accessibility: Designing user-friendly interfaces for all user tech levels. 5. Cost-Effectiveness: Reducing repetition of tests and procedures to cut both patient and health provider operational costs. 6. Community and Capacity Building: Training providers to use digital tools effectively.
11.05 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
I actively promote the role of female entrepreneurs within my community starting with having a female co-owner who plays a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction and decision-making processes. This not only underscores our dedication to gender equality but also sets a strong example for other organizations. Furthermore, I have prioritized hiring women in key roles, particularly in areas traditionally dominated by men such as technology and analytics. By doing so, I aim to empower women in the tech sector and provide them with opportunities to lead and innovate. This will provide tem with the necessary skill and experience to innovate as entrepreneurs.
