This is a low-cost solar lighting system that utilizes small solar panels (6V) to charge lithium-ion batteries in order to provide lighting to low-income earners who cannot afford and/or have no major day-to-day need for solar inverter systems.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

My startup focuses on solving immediate problems within its environment using electronics technology. I researched the accumulation of solar energy from small solar panels to lithium-ion batteries in 2023, which finally gave me the useful knowledge needed to develop this kind of project in December 2023. Since December 2023, I have been designing this project for sales, and the results have been positive from the buyers. My startup also has, in its production, durable and lasting rechargeable lamps for homes and shops. These rechargeable lamps eliminate the need to replace purchased rechargeable lamps by users within 5 months of usage, as that is the common experience with rechargeable lamps sold in the Nigerian markets.

To provide homes and businesses with suitable, cheap, and lasting solar lighting systems

Cheaper cost. Effective like imported products. Easy of maintenance and repair.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

My startup product is aimed at low-income dwellers and business owners in communities with poor power supply. This set of people have been exposed to the purchase of non-rechargeable lamps, rechargeable lamps of poor lithium-ion batteries, and cheap solar lighting systems made with fake lead-acid batteries; they have seen these kinds of aforementioned products as norms. Also, the solar lighting systems made of lithium-ion batteries are expensive and not quite affordable for a good number of these dwellers. Hence, this set of people are the targeted beneficiaries of my startup product.
