01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Cubago Listings is changing the game for renters in Nigeria. When I returned to Nigeria, I personally experienced the chaos of finding an apartment—untrustworthy agents, misleading listings, and hidden fees made the process unbearable. Determined to find a solution, I launched Cubago Listings to create a stress-free, reliable rental experience. Our platform showcases verified properties with detailed descriptions, high-quality photos, and videos. Users can filter searches by budget, location, and preferences, ensuring they find their ideal home. Recognizing the challenges busy professionals face, we introduced the "Ogualigho" package, offering Saturday inspections for convenience. In addition to property listings, we provide moving, relocation, and cleaning services, making transitions seamless. We earn through rental commissions, inspection fees, and premium subscriptions. We’ve had over 100 satisfied clients and we’re still determined to serve millions more.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Our business tackles the inefficiencies and lack of transparency in Nigeria's housing rental market. Finding accommodation is often a stressful, time-consuming process plagued by untrustworthy agents, misleading property descriptions, and multiple inspection fees. This issue affects thousands of renters, especially busy professionals working 9-5 jobs who struggle to find time for property inspections. The problem is critical as it results in financial losses and frustration for renters, while genuine landlords miss out on reliable tenants due to the chaotic market. Our research shows that over 60% of renters experience delays and additional costs due to unreliable agents and lack of efficient systems. By addressing this problem, we aim to streamline the housing search process with our tech-enabled platform, offering high-quality property listings, flexible options, and Saturday inspections for busy professionals.
