01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

0xCarbon exists to tackle the urgent and complex issue of climate change, specifically the problem of greenhouse gas emissions from carbon-intensive businesses in sub-Saharan Africa. Carbon-intensive businesses are constantly trying to meet their net zero status by tracking & reporting their emissions in order to offset their emissions. However, they find it hard to meet this goal because of the complexities involved, the lack of real-time tracking and reporting infrastructure, changing operations, finance allocation and measurements. These are the challenges we aim to solve.

Our target audience comprises carbon-intensive businesses in Africa: Primary Emitters: Energy , Transportation , Manufacturing and Industrial Companies - High emission businesses that are seeking to transition to a low-carbon economy in order to be compliant with the government and to track their carbon emissions. Secondary Emitters: Agricultural, Waste Management, Construction Companies - often lack the technical tools necessary to track energy distribution, calculate carbon emissions, and create visualizations of their ESG and emission status. These tools are essential for generating progress reports and effectively managing their environmental impact. Tertiary Emitters: Technology Providers, Financial Institutions, Regulatory Bodies - A carbon calculating software provides accurate data on carbon emissions, enabling informed decision-making, investment strategies, and compliance with environmental regulations.

As a founder, she directs the affairs of the team ensuring team cooperation, maximum efficiency, and productivity. Obianuju Madike: As the Business Opportunity Director, Uju identifies new business prospects and develops plans to drive revenue growth. She actively seeks out partnerships and market opportunities. She also oversees market expansion efforts and analyzes business metrics to inform decision-making.
