01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
1101 Inc. addresses the critical issue of carbon management. In 2019, global carbon emissions reached 36.4 billion metric tons, highlighting the urgent need for solutions (International Energy Agency, 2020). Carbon capture is essential for meeting climate goals, reducing emissions from industrial processes and power generation (IPCC Special Report, 2018). 1101 Inc. acts as a parent company, fostering projects with spin-out potential. The Libran carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) project, wholly owned and managed by the founder, exemplifies this model.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) industry struggles with inefficiencies and high costs. Current technologies often achieve less than 90% efficiency, leading to significant CO2 emissions. Additionally, the capital and operating costs exceed $30 per metric ton of CO2, making widespread adoption challenging. These high costs and inefficiencies result in limited utilization rates, impeding the industry's potential to mitigate climate change effectively. Our product offerings address these issues by improving efficiency and reducing costs, making CCUS more viable and scalable for various industrial applications.

Our startup's product offers several major benefits. Firstly, it enhances efficiency and reduces costs by capturing carbon emissions at a significantly lower expense compared to traditional methods, thereby lowering operational expenses for industries. Secondly, the technology is highly scalable and adaptable, making it suitable for small, medium, and large-scale applications across various industrial processes. Lastly, it has a substantial environmental impact by effectively capturing and reducing CO2 emissions, aiding industries in meeting regulatory standards and improving their sustainability profiles, which is crucial in the fight against climate change.
