Describe your project or startup in a few words
Grabb Livestock is an online platform that connects local vendors directly with customers, eliminating middlemen, ensuring fair prices, and promoting transparency. Our platform fosters economic stability and growth by bridging the demand and supply gap.
01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Grabb Livestock is an innovative online platform dedicated to revolutionizing the livestock market by connecting local vendors directly with customers. Our mission is to eliminate the middlemen who often inflate prices and reduce the profits for vendors, ensuring fair pricing for both sellers and buyers. Through our platform, we provide a transparent marketplace where vendors can list their livestock with detailed descriptions and Grabb Livestock backend AI photo health verification, enabling customers to make informed purchasing decisions. We focus on bridging the gap between supply and demand, not only locally but also across Africa, expanding market access for vendors, and offering a wider selection to customers. Secure transactions and reliable logistics are integral to our operations, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of livestock. Grabb Livestock also emphasizes continuous support and education for both vendors and customers, fostering a community of informed participants.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Grabb Livestock is tackling the inefficiencies and inequities in the livestock market. The livestock industry is worth 30 trillion Naira. In Nigeria, the livestock sector is crucial, contributing about 12% to the agricultural GDP. However, local vendors often face significant barriers, including lack of market access, price manipulation by middlemen, and insufficient infrastructure. For instance, it is estimated that middlemen inflate livestock prices by up to 45%, reducing profits for farmers and increasing costs for consumers. Moreover, over 60% of local vendors struggle with limited access to broader markets, resulting in unsold livestock and financial losses. By providing an online platform that directly connects vendors to buyers, Grabb Livestock aims to eliminate these barriers, ensuring fair pricing, enhancing market reach, and improving the livelihoods of local livestock farmers.

This transparency builds trust between vendors and customers, reducing the risk of fraud and enhancing the overall market experience. 3.
