01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
With African Folder, we are out to build an ecosystem for the proper documentation of African pop culture events, African history, culture, tourism among others. African Folder is a forward-thinking media company tasked with connecting a global audience to African culture and its diaspora through authentic content and immersive experiences in order to create a highly engaged community of empowered black people worldwide.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
African pop culture is finally gaining the attention it deserves. It has now drawn the world closer to African culture and Africans as a whole. However, while this has opened even more doors for African creatives, it is lacking behind in proper documentation of our stories as Africans are mainly being told by non-African media companies.
