Describe your project or startup in a few words
My project involves raising domestic birds such as chickens, ducks, and turkeys for meat or egg production. It includes planning for housing, feeding, health care, and marketing, aiming to produce high-quality poultry products efficiently and sustainably.
01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Lead Way Family Poultry was founded in September 2021 in Bauchi, Nigeria, to support efforts of individuals and families to feed themselves and in that way build healthier communities. Lead Way provides fresh broiler chickens and eggs, goats, cattle, and sheep. We focus on quality and affordability with an aim to help the world eat healthy meats. We sell all types of chickens, form just hatched through 14 weeks, as well as processed chicken, chicken feed, medicines, and waste for manure for farm use.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
My project primarily aims to address the demand for affordable, nutritious protein sources in the form of meat and eggs. It seeks to provide food security and meet dietary needs for growing populations. Additionally, my project addresses economic challenges by creating employment opportunities and generating income for farmers. It also tackles issues related to resource efficiency, as poultry has a relatively low feed-to-meat conversion ratio compared to other livestock. By optimizing production processes, poultry farming can contribute to sustainable agriculture and rural development.
