We are building Nigeria’s largest health ecosystem that utilizes telemedicine, remote health monitoring and online pharmaceuticals to improve health outcomes for youths in under-resourced communities.

At MyItura, we are building Nigeria's largest ecosystem for healthcare providers that revolutionizes efficiency of healthcare delivery services and improves patient outcomes through the incorporation of a customized cutting-edge digital architecture. Harnessing digital solutions to enable healthcare providers to provide digital health solutions to their patients, today, MyItura addresses health inaccessibility by supporting telemedicine, remote health testing, and pharmaceuticals to meet the healthcare needs of people in under-resourced communities.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The Nigerian health system reveals an alarming infrastructural concern that reveals unprecedented levels of inaccessibility to healthcare especially amongst rural communities. This is represented by only 43% of the population who have access to standard healthcare and this challenge is mostly due to geographic restrictions as well as poor health-seeking behaviors. Understanding that while rural populations make up half of Nigeria’s population, these areas have an estimated 12% and 19% of the total number of physicians and nurses, respectively [World Bank]. The impact of health inaccessibility on populations is the reduction of health outcomes, economic burden, and even increased healthcare costs. There is therefore a need for direct efforts to provide access to basic healthcare advice to those who are unable to access healthcare providers as well as a collaborative effort to support the existing traditional healthcare providers by incorporating digital tools.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

1. Telemedicine Consultations: This enables patients to connect with healthcare professionals remotely via video, audio, or chat. We also leverage AI to transcribe the sessions and share them with users after the calls 2. Medication Ordering: This feature allows patients to order prescribed medications directly through the platform. After a consultation, healthcare providers can send prescriptions electronically to the patient’s preferred pharmacy or arrange for home delivery. 3. AI Chatbot for Medical Advice (Itura): The AI chatbot offers instant medical advice and answers to common health-related questions. It uses natural language processing and machine learning to understand and respond to user queries accurately. 4. Health testing: This enables patients to book health tests from their localities to medical test labs, a phlebotomist comes to pick their sample or they are directed to the closest lab and they get their result on the app all within 24 hours.

Our product is targeted at both the B2B and B2C market. B2B customers include insurance companies, pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, large employers, churches. These customers entail the larger part of our revenue and profit. We also target direct customers to use use our solutions

Opeyemi Arogundade has a PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He has previously cofounded Hytch Buddy, a US-based VC-backed mobility startup in the US. He also has management consulting experience at McKinsey and Company and Illinois Business Consulting. Adeoluwa Ogunye is a mechatronics engineer and full stack engineer with over a decade of experience in software engineering across industries. He has served as Engineering lead at Olombria, he oversees the development and deployment of robust backend and AI-driven applications. He’s also a founder at TechBeaver, a technology consulting platform. Shina Arogundade, is a faith-driven entrepreneur and the CEO of Techbeaver, a cutting-edge technology development company that specializes in providing essential technical infrastructures to empower startup founders.

We lead the accessibility frontiers by providing faster access to pharmaceuticals, remote health testing, and telemedicine to enhance patient care and through AI, our solution triages patients and prioritizes their care when referring to healthcare providers. Furthermore, by recognizing the need for healthcare providers to significantly improve patient health outcomes by incorporating digital solutions, through a collaborative effort, we integrate with existing traditional healthcare providers to enhance patient care by providing faster access to pharmaceuticals, remote health testing and telemedicine. Our main competitors are HealthTracker, Helium Health and Afrihealth. Our product stands out as a customized digital healthcare solution built to maximize efficiency, allowing ordering medication, health testing and telemedicine to meet health needs. While we offer maintenance for the continued relevance of our solution, we also prioritize long-term viability by investment in Research and Development. For example, we incorporated Artificial Intelligence (AI) that provides basic health information and flags health concerns for our professionals. Additionally, the founding team has an indept understanding of digital tools including AI and cybersecurity which translates to better integration of the features of a health technology product for our product.
