A highly innovative Online pharmacy that seeks to make effective and quality pharmaceutical care services and medications accessible to patients and clients from the comfort of their homes or anywhere they may be.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Platinum Pharmacare Integrated Solutions Limited (known as Platinum Pharmacare for short) is a newly registered online pharmacy that provides pharmaceutical care services and makes effective and quality medications available to patients and clients at very affordable rates. Platinum Pharmacare Integrated Solutions Limited is registered by the corporate affairs commission of Nigeria. We undertake the sales, distribution, procurement, supply of drugs, pharmaceuticals, supplements medical devices, equipments and other related products. We are also into pharmaceutical and healthcare consulting and consultancy services. We also undertake general contracts that has to do with supply or procurement of medications or other items. We have a specialty in making rare drugs available to patients at affordable rates so patients can actually get well because we noticed that some patients with rare disease conditions are unable to access the prescribed medications and this could be fatal.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

We want to make safe, quality and effective medications available to the patients at affordable costs. We also want to assist patients with chronic health conditions and rare disease conditions to always have access to their prescription medications and other supplements at affordable costs in the comfort of their homes and anywhere they choose to have the medications delivered. We also want to take the stress of procurement away from different companies and pharmaceutical organisations by helping them do their procurements at affordable rates. We also want to ensure that we offer pharmaceutical care services including pharmaceutical consultation and consulting) counselling services. This is to ensure that patients and clients are properly followed up and guided in their medication therapy that is to say we also want to offer medication therapy management and adequate follow up and care support services which will be available online and offline at all times, everyday of the week.

The first benefit is that we will make safe, effective and quality medications available at affordable costs to patients and clients at the comfort of their homes or preferred location. 2. We intend to improve the quality of life of patients with chronic health conditions and patients with rare disease conditions and other disabilities. This we intend to do by removing the difficulties and encumbrances in the access to medications for this class of patients. 3. We also want to ensure we provide pharmaceutical care services and counselling to patients via electronic channels (website, social media and via telephone) this is to ensure that the patients has access to credible information and guidance on the use of their medication to ensure they get the optimum outcomes from their medications and reduce the incidence of adverse events. 4. We also want to help government and other organisations to procure medications when necessary. 5. Periodic outreaches for the health of the community.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Individuals of all age, sex and race. But particularly individuals who understand the importance of healthy living and want to take advantage of the array of health education, medication and information we offer to better their lives and live healthier lives . Also individuals with acute disease conditions who need drugs, supplements and devices and drug information services and do no like to always visit a physical pharmacy location or health centre -we shall serve them electronically to minimise contact. Also, people living with the Human immunodeficiency virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) who are on antiretroviral medications and want to access their medications discretely to reduce incidence of stigmatization. Finally the senior citizens, older people and the physically challenged who may not be able to visit a community pharmacy physically in their locality. We shall also attend to young people and adults facing stress, midlife crisis and mental health stress.

The Director is a clinical Pharmacist and a highly motivated and passionate entrepreneur and proven leader. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Port Harcourt Nigeria. He is 27 years old. He is the chairman of the research and development committee of the Pharmaceutical society of Nigeria young Pharmacists group Rivers state, Nigeria. The second co owner Mrs. Chinenye is a registered Nurse with a Bachelor's of Nursing Science (BNSc) from the University of Port Harcourt Nigeria. She has obtained a professional nursing certification from National Health Service (NHS) Glasgow, United Kingdom. She believes that nursing care services as an integral part of healthcare provision and patient care should be offered with the highest level of dedication and professionalism. She also believes that women should be offered more opportunities and platform to contribute their quota in the provision of efficient health care delivery services.

This will eradicate poverty in the sense that the number of hours lost through sick leaves will be reduced also the population will be healthy and productive and be able to earn their decent and legitimate living thereby reducing and ultimately eradicating poverty. Again, I and other owners and staff of the start up will also make some profit and the staff will be paid salaries. This will ensure they are able to afford their needs and eliminate hunger and then poverty will be eradicated. Finally the other partners in the distribution/supply chains such as wholesalers, distributors and the dispatch riders/ delivery men will be economically empowered hence hunger and poverty will be eradicated.

This will ensure good health and wellbeing because the patients with have access to safe, effective and quality drugs, supplements and equipments/medical devices to help them heal or recover faster from their sicknesses, live healthier lives and maintain and improve the quality of their lives. The drug information services and counselling offered will guide the patients and clients in the proper use of medications to reduce incidence of adverse events and adverse drug reactions and to reduce and eradicate the incidence of antimicrobial resistance and therapeutic failure. Also since we seek to make the medications accessible to everyone at their door step with the right information; it will ensure good health and wellbeing by reducing adverse drug reactions and complications due to misuse.

My startup Platinum Pharmacare Integrated Solutions Limited an online pharmacy seeks to provide health care and pharmaceutical care services, counselling, medication management etc with minimum physical contact. It is a unique service and seeks to make medications supply and procurement less cumbersome even for rare products. It will also ensure that follow up, counselling and consultation/medication therapy management can be done electronically using phone, email and social media.
