06.09 Competitive Analysis
Mushroom business is quite new in the Nigerian market with new market entry potential still very low in the local level because of the technical nature from cultivation to harvesting in addition to the intensive labour requirement. The demand currently is more than what all mushroom farms in Nigeria put together can meet and there’s not yet that forecast for a crash in the market as more findings about different species of mushroom for pharmaceutical needs keep rising and demands for mushrooms especially the button mushroom keeps soaring. With the right packaging, preservation and targeted marketing, the market can still accommodate more new entries especially to try to meet local and international mushroom demand.
