Brimages.com.ng is an African website that seeks to tell the stories of the African continent through pictures.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Brimages was born from the need to help digital creators in Nigeria and Africa at large with the numerous elements and components for their graphic designs, website building, etc and to make it not only accessible but affordable.We believe that images have the power to communicate in a way that words may not be able to and we're committed to using images to tell African stories about it's people, cultures and landscapes as well as the use of these elements and components in design help change certain narratives about the continent

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

I am a graphic designer, and while doing a design it required me to use pictures of naira notes. I went online to see if I could download and the pictures online either had horrible quality or were too expensive to buy(with the lowest costing about 400 USD after tax). N.B: I am a Nigerian working and living in Nigeria. In the end I had to find an alternative. These are the kind of problems we aim to solve. Also, a short search for pictures of Lagos Nigeria on the internet will show you several pictures that do not show us in good light (i.e slums, bad traffic etc) or they might show the same aerial view of Victoria Island that is almost always used in video and pictorial representations of Nigeria

1) Makes it easier for graphic designers, web designers, and others who design to get elements to help with their work 2) Helps Nigeria and Africa put its best foot forward with how it’s portrayed in pictures and videos

06.08 Justification for my startup

First, there is already an existing market for these resources as there are numerous designers and such who handle graphics, web design and development,etc. The main issue here is that getting these resources and pictures from other sources is either very expensive (Getty images, istock, freepik, etc) or do not fit the target audience ,i.e, the African market (pexels, figma, canva, etc)

Yes, I believe balance is important but I also believe in getting what you worked for, so I honestly believe that if a lady does what she has to do to be in a great position then she should definitely reap those rewards
